House of Waterford- we were able to see the whole process from start to finish and WOW what an art! These folks train for years on just one part and that is their specialty from then on. Each phase is meticulous and inspected for quality. Even the slightest imperfection, even if the lat stage, and they scrap the piece and start again. It was fascinating to watch these skilled artisans at work!

Our Greek adventure found us in Heraklion, Crete - a city named after the legendary Hercules. The day's schedule included a visit to an olive farm to learn about olive oil production from the seed to the bottle, a delightful tasting, Knossos Palace (the first palace in Europe!), local markets, Roman aqueducts, a Venetian fort, and a visit to the oldest church in the island.
This itinerary has been fantastic so far!

Thessaloniki- the second largest city in Greece. We enjoyed casually exploring this port, visiting the White Tower (that’s actually gray), several monuments, the waterfront, a park, shops, and some delicious food.
The weather was perfect too! Beautiful first day of the cruise! We even saw a “pirate ship” and a replica Viking ship!
