The Ring of Fire around the Great Sacandaga Lake is held every year on the Sunday before Labor Day. Though unofficial, it is an end of summer ritual first introduced in 1988. Bonfires are lit on both private land and shoreline businesses, who often also have special events to celebrate the evening.
