Oak Island is one of only six North Carolina beaches that still allow alcohol on the beach. However, there is NO glass allowed on the beach. Cheers! 🍺🍹

Oak Island man says unique plant is message from late wife - WWAY TV3

What a great story! A tropical plant that only blooms every 100 years and it's about to bloom right across the street from Sunbird's Promise! I can't wait to see this!

It is a plant that usually grows on the West Coast and one that blooms only once in it's lifetime. It is called the Century Plant also known as the Agave Americana, it is a rare sight to see especially across the Cape Fear.

I know this looks like a father and daughter having some harmless fun exploring the beach but the dunes serve as natural protection from flooding and wind. Playing on the dunes causes eroding. While visiting Oak Island, please don't disturb the dunes. They play a large part in protecting us from storms.

While eating dinner at one of our favorite restaurants enjoying the beautiful beaches of Oak Island, our dinner ended with this horrible treatment of our dunes. Why would you ever do this?!

Beana's Kitchen

We took a walk over to Beana's next door for lunch today. A local favorite, they serve classic diner food for breakfast and lunch. Nothing fancy...simple and homey but you will not find a friendlier group of folks!! They make you feel like part of the family. A great place to have just a few steps away!
