We love Oak Island because we’re situated in a nice quiet neighborhood, but we’re surrounded by good food and lots to do. With three bedrooms, two baths, and a fenced in yard, we’re both kid and dog friendly. We have a pack and play and booster chair for the little ones, and a scavenger hunt for the young, and young at heart.
While we’re not first or second row, we’re just a very pretty walk over the Davis Canal and the Montgomery Slough (so beautiful), and you can definitely hear the waves while you sit around the fire pit at night. We have a beach wagon to make getting to the beach a cinch. If you’re hoping for fishing nearby, Veteran’s Park is just down the street and has a great fishing pier on the ICW.
