Pink Flamingo Piña Colada
Ingredients:
2 oz coconut cream
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz coconut milk
1 oz white rum
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz grenadine syrup
1 cup ice
Instructions
Prepare Ingredients:

Ensure all ingredients are measured and ready to go.
Blend Ingredients:

In a blender, combine the coconut cream, pineapple juice, coconut milk, white rum, lime juice, grenadine syrup, and ice.
Blend:

Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Serve:

Pour the Pink Flamingo Piña Colada into a chilled glass.
Garnish:

Optionally, garnish with a slice of pineapple, a maraschino cherry, or a lime wheel.

Beautiful Oak Island ❤️

Beautiful Oak Island lighthouse offering its light to ships since 1958. This lighthouse replaced a lighthouse that served the area on Bald Head Island across the way. It was a steel structure that was torn down the same year that this lighthouse went into operation. The lighthouse has been completely converted to LED lights and can be seen for 20 nautical miles.

In the things that entertain me department...I love capturing sun flares. During tonight's sunset, I was delighted to see not one but 2! The top one is the actual sun and the other is from the sun's reflection on the water.

Amazing Turtle news for 2023 ❤️🐢

We had a few obstacles but overall, we had a great season! 2023 was our third-highest number of nests on record! We have had record-breaking years two years in a row! This season we were #1 on the leaderboard on seaturtle.org, and we were third in NC for the number of nests per beach...Cape Hatteras and Cape Lookout beat us! We are so very blessed to be able to help protect and care for the sea turtles that visit our beautiful island! Thank you to those of you who care and continue supporting our efforts! You are Appreciated!

September may mean the end of Summer, but it doesn't mean the end of FUN! The Town of Oak Island is excited to host its first-ever Sunset On Summer Music Festival!

Scheduled for the Saturday after Labor Day, this NEW one-day festival will provide a transition between the Town's "Summer Fun" and "Fall Festivities" - and everyone is invited!

Sunset on Summer will feature music by:
• The Band of Oz (Beach Music) at Noon
• Landslide (Fleetwood Mac tribute) at 3:00 PM
• 20 Ride (Zac Brown Band tribute) at 6:00 PM
.. along with a kids area, live DJ, food trucks, craft beer, wine, and spirits on site.
Souvenir T-shirts and merchandise will be available for purchase, and all A.L.E. permitting and regulations will be enforced. For more details, visit www.OakIslandNC.gov/SoS

This splash pad is totally awesome. The kids love it and it’s a great change of scenery after some time on the beach.

The best news. It is a stone throw away from Salt & Light. A quick 3 minute walk across the road past Pepperoni Grill and there you are at Middleton Park where the OKi splash pad is.

The Oak Island Splashpad will open for the 2023 Summer Season on Friday, May 26; however the Splashpad will close if at any point thunder or lighting is observed.

**910.945.8888** Please call us day or night for any sea turtle activity (nesting turtles, hatchlings, hooked turtles, deceased turtles, etc...)! We are the only permitted program from the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to care for, protect, and transport sea turtles on our beach! If you see a nesting turtle, please stand back a minimum of 25 feet, do not shine lights on her, do not use flash photography, stay quiet, and hopefully, you will see her lay a nest! Please call us so we can come out and mark the nest and complete some data and research for the state to help protect them! Thank you for your help and support and we hope to see you on the beach! 🐢❤️🐢❤️🐢

We love our sea turtles and Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital 💚🐢

Thanks to Tristin for calling us this morning! This juvenile green turtle had washed up on the beach. The turtle was covered with vegetation which indicates it had been sedentary for quite some time. It was probably cold stunned earlier in the winter. The good news is that it was active, so hopefully a fighter! It is currently being transported to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Topsail Beach. We will keep you updated on the progress!

This is the time of year that we see cold stunned related turtles wash ashore at Caswell Beach, Oak Island and even in Southport. Please call us @ 910-368-6323 or the State Hotline @ 252-241-7367 if you happen upon a turtle on the beach!
