Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Norfolk

Even though we are making our way home I couldn’t resist taking my group to Momma Mia’s in Abingdon, Virginia. They are famous for their award winning homemade pasta!

This is the fourth time I’ve brought a group to this wonderful restaurant. If you are in this area, be sure to give them a try and let them know Suzie sent you!

Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center.

No beach trip would be complete without visiting the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Our group enjoyed seeing all the colorful fish, and there was even a hiking trail! I got in three miles I hadn’t anticipated with that stop.

I think the fish enjoyed me blowing kisses their way to get their attention. One puffer fish followed me as far as his tank would allow him.

Our group said farewell to Virginia Beach this morning with a group photo! The tour has been a very relaxing getaway. I’m blessed to have a wonderful group onboard!

Victory Rover Cruise

We enjoyed spending time on the water looking at the naval ships, nuclear submarines, and barges that was in port at the pier.

One of the most fascinating discoveries was the ship Dali — this is the vessel that hit and destroyed the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The loss of the bridge really hit home because I knew I had traveled it numerous times.

The perfect ending to this crisis occurred when a set of twin dolphins jumped up beside our ship! The last time I had seen dolphins this close was a few years ago, when I visited Hawaii.

The day ended eating at Bubba’s Shrimp Shack.

Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin

Today, we got to explore the best Norfolk had to offer. Our morning was spent at the Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin.

Absolutely a fascinating location with the opportunity to walk on and explore the Battleship Wisconsin. Lunch was at the Bluemoon Taphouse. Pepsi and Fish Tacos you know I was a happy lady.

Last stop for today was at the Mariners Museum and Park, and then dinner at Angelos.

The navel museum was fascinating, one that you could have stayed all day and not have seen anything.

Today we got the opportunity to visit beautiful Williamsburg. We completed a two hour guided walking tour and get a chance to explore on our own for lunch.

We are now onward to The Mariners’ Museum and Park. We are blessed with beautiful weather today, fingers crossed it will last until the end of the week.

Here is my Yes! Go Travel office this morning. Nothing like working hard and getting to see the sunrise on my ocean view balcony.

Last night, one of my passengers made my day when she hugged me and stated, “Thank you for planning this trip, it’s a dream come true”. I’ve always said I’ve been very blessed to travel with some of the best people in the world.

Can you tell I love traveling the world? A huge bonus is having the ability to brighten someone’s life is very gratifying !

Yesterday was my groups start date for our Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Norfolk tour! We had an overnight stay in Stanton, Virginia.

We arrived at Virginia Beach today, to an ocean view hotel! Enjoyed oysters at a nearby restaurant and a stroll on the Virginia Board Walk.

While exploring I found an interesting World War II monument. Tonight kicks off the tour with a dinner party with entertainment.

Fall Foliage Update

Due to the high demand for the Fall Foliage tour, the October 5th tour is filled. I have scheduled additional tours each Saturday in October. I will have motorcoach transportation pick-up stops in Clinton and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The activities for this tour include:

- Roundtrip motorcoach transportation from Clinton and
Chattanooga, Tennessee
- Pre-paid lunch at Sticky Fingers
- Admission to the Tennessee Railroad Museum
- 60-Minute Tennessee River train ride

The price is $125.00 per person.

As I fill each bus, I will move on to the next date. Personnel who have sent in reservation forms will be given the option to select the October 12th date or to have me cancel their reservations.

Farewell National Parks Tour

Today was the end to my 12-Day National Park tour. And what an experience it has been. This being my fifth time out west, with me being the guide on four trips, I honesty didn’t know if this tour was going to be able to hold my interest. How I was SO wrong.

Our guide Tim Ernspiker was the best I have experienced in my travel career. Not only was he an expert on the area he freely shared his knowledge and suggestions on ways I can help improve my own tours. I’m keeping my fingers crossed he will be our guide next year on my Colorado Rockies tour.

By now you know i am very selective of my motor-coach drivers. When I find one that understands my quirky ways I hold them on a high pedestal. Paul Simmons was no exception. He got our group in places I never dreamed I would visit.

Also, our travel group was so well connected. We were a mixed group from California, Alabama, Florida, Illinois, and my crew from Tennessee. All with different personality’s but by the time it was over we felt like we were family.

Last night we had a farewell dinner and then a surprise chill session by the fire pit. We all hugged and made pictures and felt that by meeting each other we received a bonus on this tour.

Buffalo Bill Center of the West

Have you ever been to a museum that wasn’t possible to get through in one day? If not, I found one yesterday in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

This museum brought a new perspective to the old west. After four hours, I didn’t even touch the surface. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend it.

Yesterday was one of the best travel days I’ve experienced in my career! We saw a head of buffalo, visited Yellowstone National Park, made a visit to rhe famous Prestine Pools, and ended the day at Cody Rodeo! The weather was outstanding!

A welcome addition to my tour included a stop at the Episcopal Chapel of Transformation. This place felt like God was waiting for you as you entered the church. It was a very moving experience!
