Here's a little update about our enhanced cleaning protocols. We've always been committed to cleanliness here at the Sanctuary Rest and Ride but with the threat of COVID-19 we've taken added measures to ensure our guests and hosts are safe. We have spaced reservations out to allow a 3 day break between guests. This gives us more time to ventilate and clean the home. The extensive cleaning check list provided by Airbnb ensures that nothing is overlooked during this 3 day cleaning period. We want our guests to feel safe and relaxed in our mountain retreat. Thank you for your continued support.

Following guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local public health authorities, Yosemite National Park is increasing recreational access. The National Park Service (NPS) is working servicewide with federal, state, and local public health authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and using a phased approach to increase access on a park-by-park basis.

Beginning June 5, Yosemite National Park will reopen access to the Yosemite Wilderness to those with an existing wilderness permit reservation and to those with an existing Half Dome permit.

The health and safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners continues to be paramount. At Yosemite National Park, our operational approach will be to examine each facility function and service provided to ensure those operations comply with current public health guidance, and will be regularly monitored. We continue to work closely with the NPS Office of Public Health using CDC guidance to ensure public and workspaces are safe and clean for visitors, employees, partners, and volunteers.

While these areas are accessible for visitors to enjoy, a return to full operations will continue to be phased and services may be limited. When recreating, the public should follow local area health orders, practice Leave No Trace principles, avoid crowding and avoid high-risk outdoor activities.

The CDC has offered guidance to help people recreating in parks and open spaces prevent the spread of infectious diseases. We will continue to monitor all park functions to ensure that visitors adhere to CDC guidance for mitigating risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19, and take any additional steps necessary to protect public health.

Check https://go.nps.gov/covid for updates.

We are happy to welcome guests to our mountain community but we ask that you please be responsible for your own trash. If you can pack it in, you can pack it out. Leave no trace!✌️😊

To protect the public health and safety of our local communities and all visitors to the forest, you are encouraged to:

• AVOID HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES - Law enforcement and/or search and rescue operations may be limited due to COVID-19 issues. High-risk activities such as backcountry activities that increase your chance of injury or distress should be avoided.

• NO TRASH removal is currently offered – please pack out all trash and waste www.int.org

• ALL TOILET FACILITIES are currently closed – please plan accordingly. All human waste and tissues should be placed in a plastic bag and taken with you – LEAVE NO TRACE www.lnt.org.

• AVOID LARGE GATHERINGS - If an area is crowded, please search for a less occupied location.

We recommend exercising close to your home and complying with local, state, and CDC guidance of not traveling for your recreation needs.

Something fun to keep the little ones busy while we all patiently wait for Yosemite to reopen. Enjoy!

Social distancing means avoiding large gatherings and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet) from others when possible. While we're at it, let's remember to keep it 300 feet or more for larger wildlife.

As services are limited, the National Park Service continues to urge visitors to:

Check park websites for the most up to date information regarding access.

Pack out everything you bring into a park and always practice Leave No Trace principles.

Park only in designated areas. Follow park regulations.

If you encounter a crowded trail-head or overlook, you're not practicing safe social distancing. Go elsewhere.

If waving to your friend from six feet away, you're doing it right. If you're waving while standing next to a moose, you're not.

Visit nps.gov/coronavirus to learn more.
