Discover Yosemite provides group and individual tours of Yosemite National Park from their most popular Full Day Tour, to Half Day Tours, Sunset/Full Moon excursions and private Natural History and Hiking Tours. See Half Dome, El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, *Yosemite Falls, Three Brothers, Leaning Tower, *Glacier Point, *Ribbon Fall, Cathedral Spires, Royal Arches, Yosemite Chapel, *Vernal & Nevada

*Glacier Point and some waterfalls are seasonal.
**Mariposa Grove is closed until Spring 2017 for a restoration project. Let Discover Yosemite make your visit to Yosemite both relaxing and unforgettable. We’ll do the planning, pick you up, pay the fees, feed you and transport you through the phenomenal grandeur of this national treasure. And after a day with our exceptional guides, you’ll have a much deeper appreciation of what you’ve seen than if you’d traveled on your own. You’ll learn about Galen Clark, the “Father of Yosemite,” his friend John Muir and other unusual characters who made Yosemite what it is today. You’ll know what forces shaped this incredible landscape, the difference between a Ponderosa and a Jeffrey Pine and something about the lives of our bears, coyotes and other wildlife. Exploring Yosemite National Park should be on everyone’s "bucket list". And don’t save this for last or you’ll regret not visiting again and again. Even superlatives like “awe-inspiring,” “breathtaking” and “magnificent” can’t begin to describe what it’s like to stand beneath its soaring granite cliffs and hear the ice thundering over the waterfalls or to wander amidst the silence of the Giant Sequoias. But the rapture of seeing one of the wonders of the world can be marred by the challenges of driving on winding mountain roads, playing musical chairs for parking spaces and craning to see towering 3,000-foot precipices from horizon-line car windows. And who knows what unexpected gifts may come to you along the way? A rarely seen wildflower hidden in the grass? Or a wisp of a waterfall seen briefly in the spring? Our guides know how to increase your chances of seeing the unexpected as well as the expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will I see a bear?

A: We sincerely hope not. As thrilling as it is to see one, bears that gravitate to populated areas of the park are endangered bears. The National Park Service works hard to keep our wild bears in the wild. However, there’s an excellent chance of seeing lots of other wildlife: mule deer, coyotes, marmots on the Tioga Pass tour, and numerous birds, including Steller’s Jays & Black-headed Grosbeaks.

Each of us plays a vital role in protecting our national parks. As we spend time outdoors, in the natural world, and in the wilderness, it’s important to be conscious of the effects our actions may have on plants, animals, other people, and even entire ecosystems.

Leave No Trace Principle: Leave What You Find
Preserve the past: examine and photograph, but do not touch cultural or historic structures and artifacts.
Leave rocks, plants, and other natural objects as you find them.
Avoid introducing or transporting non-native species.
Do not build structures or furniture or dig trenches.

Fun fact: all of our drivers are required to do online training and have certificates for the Leave No Trace program. It’s free and anyone can do it! For anyone interested in getting the certification, here’s the link:

Fall is a wonderful time to travel - and Yosemite is particularly gorgeous this time of year. Day hikers or treaded walking shoes are necessary whether you are walking a valley trail on a ranger-led hike or heading up steeper trails. If you are doing any technical hiking, higher boots with deeper treads are recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should we wear?

A: There’s an apocryphal quote attributed to Mark Twain, supposedly uttered after experiencing a summer snowstorm in Yosemite. “Yosemite has only two seasons, the end of one winter and the beginning of the next.” Chances of seeing snow in the summer are rare, but it’s a good idea to wear layers at any time of year, as the weather can change dramatically during the day.

Yosemite Valley weather is warm to hot in the summer, with occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Spring and Fall are highly variable, with days tending toward mild, but either season can bring snow or rain. Winter is cold with frequent snow. Be prepared for snow and ice even on sunny days, since there are areas of the valley that never see the sunlight in the winter months. For the weather forecast: www.weather.com/weather/local/95389

Leave No Trace Principle: Dispose of Waste Properly
Pack it in, pack it out. Inspect your campsite, food preparation area, and rest areas for trash or spilled food. Remove and pack out all trash, leftover food, and litter.
Utilize toilet facilities whenever possible. Otherwise, solid human waste can be dug 6 to 8 inches deep into catholes at least 200 feet from water, camp, and trails. When finished, cover and disguise the cathole.
Pack out toilet paper and hygiene products.
To wash yourself or your dishes, carry water 200 feet away from streams or lakes, use small amounts of biodegradable soap, and scatter strained dishwater.
