When traveling we have often been more than disappointed by the mattresses we’ve had to sleep on. This goes for both hotels and vacation rentals (we stay in both because not all Airbnb’s are created equal!).

We use the same mattress on our own bed as we put in all of our rentals, because a comfortable bed isn’t something that should be sacrificed. We have received a good amount of messages from guests after a stay about the mattresses we use because they wanted to purchase their own.

The four bedrooms at The Lodge at Hills Creek were designed with your comfort and good rest in mind. We don’t sacrifice or skimp on quality amenities.

Our dear and good friend came to visit us a few weeks ago.
She brought her camera equipment and let us enjoy some time with her while she took some shots.

She said “I’ll make some pictures of you two so you can share more about you.”
So here’s an updated picture of us, but what I really want, is to tell you about my friend Jen.

It’s been so inspiring to watch our friend take on her passion for photography, and to have it grow into work that brings her, and her clients, so much joy. She has an ease with her skill so it appears effortless and natural to her. Her eye for where to stop, look, and capture is truly unique. She is offering some headshot specials in February (based in Bend), and she also does special events. You’ll love working with her; and finding a genuine, kind, and inspiring person behind the lens.

Hills Creek Hideaway and The Lodge are neighboring properties located at top of the reservoir. There’s a 30 mile, mostly gravel, loop of a road around the whole reservoir. A boat launch is just 1/4 mile down the road, and a larger launch on the main finger. Water levels fluctuate; currently the levels are low enough to see the bottom in some areas. In the summer, motorboats can be spotted from time to time. I’ll get out on the paddle board, but never as much as I think I will.
It’s a pretty special area, and we sure feel grateful to call it home and to share it with others.

These were just made and hung in Uptown Hideaway #2.
🪚As small business owners, the work is never-ending. We value making improvements, keeping our rentals updated, and working creatively in the process. Each rental includes a woodworking project- from a kitchen table, to nightstands, to decorative pieces.
👫And I sure am lucky to have a business partner, aka husband, who is so handy and talented ☺️
