🚨 Unbelievable Wildlife Sighting on Assateague! 🚨

This past weekend, a polar bear was captured on camera by one of our team members as she was resting on the shores of nearby Assateague Island! 🐻‍❄️❄️

For the safety of this magnificent creature, we were asked to hold off on sharing the news until she had left the area, about 2 miles north of the parking lot. Although extremely rare, this is actually not the first sighting on Assateague! Polar bears have been spotted in the area as recently as the early 1920s, with a handful of documented sightings before then.

We're still picking our jaws up off the sand. Could this be climate change at work? A very lost bear? Or something even wilder? 🤔
