July 4th Music and Fireworks

Get ready to light up the night sky in Ocean City, MD, this Independence Day! Join us on Thursday, July 4th, for an unforgettable celebration featuring two simultaneous fireworks displays, live DJ entertainment, and plenty of family fun. Whether you're enjoying the festivities at Northside Park or soaking up the vibrant atmosphere on the Boardwalk at Caroline Street, you'll experience the magic of fireworks sparkling over the beach and the bay. Bring your family, friends, beach chairs, and blankets for a patriotic celebration you won't want to miss!

Locations:

Northside Park: 125th Street and the bay

Enjoy Radio Ocean City with BK & Chrissy as your DJ's from 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
Note: The soccer field and walking path on the northwest side of the park will be closed for viewing due to safety precautions.

Ocean City's Boardwalk: Beach at Caroline Street

DJ Kutt starts at 8:00 p.m.
Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m.
Bring beach chairs or blankets and claim a spot on the sand for a unique fireworks display set to music.

Parking and Transportation:

Inlet Parking Lot: Parking rate will increase to $5 per hour for the day.

Coastal Highway Bus Service: Available from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for $4 (ride-all-day pass). Expect delays and full buses.

West Ocean City Park & Ride: Free parking with $4 ride-all-day shuttle service to and from Dorchester Street and St. Louis Avenue, available from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Expect traffic delays and high rider demand.

Safety Reminder:

The Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office urges spectators to leave fireworks to the professionals. Ground-based sparkling devices are not legal to use or possess in Ocean City.

Ocean City, MD to explore familiar modern airport feature for famous boardwalk with 'moving sidewalk'.

Commercially known as Travelators or Automated Motorized People Movers (A.M.P.M.) the project would enhance the historic, wooden, landmark by allowing visitors to travel more quickly across the iconic promenade.

OCEAN CITY, MD – In a bid to revolutionize the boardwalk experience, a plan to study the implementation of a cutting-edge Automated Motorized People Mover (A.M.P.M.) will be considered for several sections of the famous boardwalk. The A.M.P.M. is set to transform the way people navigate and enjoy the scenic beauty of the beachfront. Utilized across many airports, the horizontal conveyors transport people quickly from place to place.

With sustainability and convenience at the forefront, the introduction of the A.M.P.M. marks a significant milestone in an ongoing commitment to enhancing accessibility and reducing environmental impact. The state-of-the-art technology is solar powered, emitting zero emissions and offering a greener alternative in addition to old fashioned transportation methods such as cycling and walking.

Designed with both efficiency and comfort in mind, the A.M.P.M. boasts a spacious pathway and panoramic views, allowing passengers to soak in the coastal splendor while effortlessly gliding along the boardwalk. Visitors can now traverse the boardwalk with ease, minimizing fatigue and maximizing enjoyment.

In addition to providing a convenient mode of transportation, the A.M.P.M. is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi offering passengers connectivity to real-time information about local attractions, events, and points of interest along the boardwalk. Other enhanced features being considered include wireless phone charging hubs, cup holders and QR code assisted selfie stations. Also, as the acronym suggests, the A.M.P.M. operates 24 hours a day.

The deployment of the A.M.P.M. would be the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at modernizing the iconic boardwalk. With picturesque vistas, vibrant atmosphere, and now, enhanced accessibility, Ocean City, MD looks to solidify its position as a premier destination for beachgoers and adventurers alike.
