The Town of Ocean Isle Beach Recreation Department and the Museum of Coastal Carolina are partnering up to host a Beach Bash in the Park on Wednesday, July 3! The event will run from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Town Center Park.
Also, the Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department will be on site with a fun sprinkler - so come ready to get wet!
This event is FREE and will include activities, crafts, music, photo booths and tons of fun!

TERMINAL GROIN 🌊
The Marine Mattress installation of the Terminal Groin (Phase 1) was completed on February 14, 2022, two weeks ahead of the project schedule. This included the installation of 516 Marine Mattresses for a total of 57,325 square feet. These marine mattresses complete the 750-foot length of the terminal groin rubble mound section. The placement of armor stone on the top of these mattresses will now begin. The contractor has advised that the subcontractor plans to mobilize to the site on February 28, 2022, to begin the sheet pile installation operations (Phase 2) of the project.

CSRM/BEACH RENOURISHMENT 🌞
The Coastal Storm Risk Management project is now underway. This project is part of our 50-year Corps renourishment project and is completely separate from our Terminal Groin Project. Norfolk Dredging is moving along on this project and is now westward of Shallotte Blvd. in the vicinity of Durham Street. The project will transition to an end at Goldsboro Street.

BIKE LANE/RESURFACING PROJECT 🚴‍♀️
The contractor for this project has been milling First Street and will begin work changing out the stormwater grates to “bicycle-friendly” grates.

Our thoughts are with those impacted.

The path of the tornado that affected parts of Brunswick County last night did not directly impact areas within the Ocean Isle Beach Town limits. The island temporarily lost power, but power has since been restored. Please pray for our neighbors in Ocean Ridge and surrounding areas and thank you to our first responders.
