Sea Turtle Nesting Season is May 1- October 31
There may be a nest near your home or vacation rental.
Baby sea turtles rely on the darkness of the beach and the natural brightness of
the moon, stars or breaking waves to find their way to their ocean home.
Each summer baby sea turtles emerge from their nest and mistake house lights, flashlights or streetlights for the light of the moon, stars or ocean waves.
Artificial lights cause sea turtles to crawl away from the ocean.
Sadly, this often leads to the loss of this endangered species.

New surprise for our renters this season-we remodeled the kitchen. (Crown molding has to wait till we come back in October 😩)- but everything else is done. Hopefully new floors in 2024.

🇺🇸Mark your calendars for July 4th!🇺🇸 Start the day off with a fun-filled parade down East Second Street! Line-up is at 9:15 in Town Center Park and the Parade starts at 10am. After your day at the beach, we invite you to enjoy the FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR (launched from the OIB Pier and visible island-wide). Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15pm.

Thank you to the Ocean Isle Property Owners Association for sponsoring the parade and co-sponsoring the fireworks. Please remember that anyone setting off fireworks (other than a licensed professional) is subject to N.C. State Law $500 fine.

Just something I wanted to share with renters

Are you in Town for a wedding or other celebration? If so...we're glad you're HERE! But please remember that there are others who do not wish to HEAR your music while they are trying to sleep. The Town of OIB has a NOISE ORDINANCE in place between the hours of 10pm and 7:30am. Those who violate the ordinance are subject to a fine of $250. An excerpt from the ordinance can be found below:

Sec. 22-71. - Noise disturbances.

(c)The following acts or activities, among others, are hereby declared to be noise disturbances in violation of this section; but this enumeration shall not be deemed to be exclusive:

(2) Amplified sound. The playing of any radio, phonograph, boom box, drums, guitars and any other musical instruments or devices through which sound can be amplified, or any other amplified sound whatsoever, in such manner or with such volume, between 10:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., which is plainly audible off of the premises from which it is emanating.

Violation of subsection 22-71(c)(2) shall subject the offender to a civil penalty of $250.00 to be paid into the office of the town clerk within 72 hours following the receipt of the citation.
