GHC Emergency Alert: A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect until 4 AM SATURDAY.
South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected on the Central Coast and North Coast. Wind gusts to 60 mph have been observed in Hoquiam and La Push.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
WIND ADVISORY is still in effect until 6 PM THIS EVENING and now includes all of Grays Harbor County. South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
HIGH SURF ADVISORY is still in effect until 10 PM THIS EVENING. Seas building to 20-24 feet and beach erosion is possible. Large waves may wash over beaches, jetties, and other structures unexpectedly. People can be swept off rocks and jetties while observing high surf.
