I'm embarking on a journey hundreds of miles from here with my paint brush. E very time I approach this canvas I feel the same awe I feel in person breathing in the fresh mountain air. Maybe it's the size and scope of it, but in the midst of oil fumes I "feel" the mountains more than I do looking at the small color and black and white photos from which I'm working. This image was taken a month or so ago when I was blocking in larger mountain and sky areas and sketching in foreground details, "underpainting" that is now being covered with translucent color glazes and impasto oils. As good as it is to live a mile or so from the ocean, it's also good to get away even if only in your mind! I'll post progress here and on my website, www.ellenrice.gallery

This beautiful resort gives guests excellent access to Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios. The Bell Vue lounge is one of our favorite spots at any resort. It's quiet, classy, and casual at the same time. The clown at the pool has recently been replaced with Mickey Mouse.

Disney's Contemporary Resort is the closest hotel to the Magic Kingdom. Planning a vacation to WDW will have everyone in your family eagerly anticipating the fun ahead. Yes, it will be different. The decorations in the parks and Disney hotels are a must see for everyone. Your favorite characters will be joining in the merry making. I've visited the parks many times and it can be a lot of fun to see Mickey (and others) when you least expect it!
