OUSC is saddened by the passing of our registrar, Karen Meagher. Over her decades of service to OUSC and the Oceanside community, Karen has been not just the Club registrar but also friend, family, program coordinator, director, board member, officer, confidant and advisor. There is not enough room nor time to list all of Karen’s attributes, accomplishments, achievements and efforts on behalf of OUSC’s players and families; it will have to suffice to state that OUSC would not be half of what it is today without Karen’s tireless efforts and guidance. Similarly, Karen’s outstanding, long-time involvement and efforts in coordinating, organizing and supervising OUSC’s special needs program are without equal and developed that program into the amazing one it is today. Today we mourn Karen’s passing, and the Club will honor her memory in a number of ways in the near future. Our condolences to Karen’s husband Mike, long time OUSC Board Member-former Club President, and their children Katie, Chris and Matt, all of whom played soccer for OUSC throughout their youth soccer careers, and who will always be part of the OUSC family.

OUSC would like to congratulate Jim Volpe, Director Emeritus and one of the most integral members of this club for the past 50 years, on his induction into the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Hall of Fame. Nobody deserves it more Jim, thanks for all you’ve done and continue to do and congratulations.  OUSC would not be anywhere close to what it is without you.

OUSC GU12 Super Y (now USL-Y) team won their division this summer and now are at National Finals in Tampa this weekend - good luck ladies!

Sun 12/15 UPDATE: congratulations on advancing to the semifinals… Four teams left… after tomorrow there will be only two… Go get ‘em ladies - best of luck!

Sat 12/14 UPDATE: ladies scored another impressive victory today, they play the final game of group stage tomorrow, win or tie and they advance to play in the knockout round on Monday. Good luck team!

Looking for a new home for your travel player? Tired of hearing “not travel ready” or “sorry we already have teams made? Oceanside United Soccer Club believes all children deserve a chance to develop and play regardless of their current ability level… we have assessments, not tryouts, and will make as many teams as registrations allow, tiered in a way so that everybody participates in league games, with teams from same age group placed in various divisions at skill levels which they can each compete in. Feel free to join us and watch your child’s love of the game grow together with their skills. U9-11 train as an age group two nights a week, play Friday night intrasquad matches with trainers on the field, teaching tactics and technical skills in real time and enabling all players to participate in the Long Island Junior Soccer League on Saturdays. U12 focuses on building from the u11 year and getting ready for full sided/full field at u13. 

Our u 13 and up travel teams also have space for anyone interested in participating, subject to a practice with the team.
