I asked Chat GPT to create a simple four-day itinerary for a trip to Paris.
It gave me 19 different places to visit. That’s about 5 different landmarks/areas to cram into each day.
After hours and miles of walking or driving around Paris, Chat GPT’s itinerary will leave you:
• Exhausted
• Overwhelmed
• Sore
• Frustrated
Here are my tips for building a great travel itinerary:

📍𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂. If you’re not a fan of museums or art isn’t your passion, skip the Musée Marmottan Monet...even if your friend says you 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 to go.

As of today, January 8, 2025, all U.S. citizens traveling through or to the U.K. for vacation or business 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘌𝘛𝘈).
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗧𝗔?
The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) simply gives travelers permission to travel to the U.K. Effective January 8, 2025, all U.S. citizens will be required to apply for an ETA if they wish to travel to the U.K.
𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗬?
Everyone traveling needs to have an ETA, including babies and children. One person is able to apply on behalf of others in their party. You cannot apply as a group—all applications must be applied for separately.

It costs £10 or $12.36 USD to apply.

To apply for an ETA, you’ll need your passport, a credit card, and your phone camera/a camera. You can apply by downloading the UK ETA application (https://lnkd.in/g5zw4F6g) on your phone or you can apply online (https://lnkd.in/gnYYsDcw).
𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘?
Typically, you’ll receive your authorization within 3 business days, but it may arrive sooner. After applying, you’ll receive an email confirming your ETA.
𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧 𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗧?
Your ETA will last 2 years from the date of approval. If you get a new passport, you’ll need to get a new ETA.

2024 I embarked on the greatest adventure of all –
