We all know the distance from the security screening area to the gates is much greater at the new terminal at KCI versus the older terminal. At least it isn't the 2+ miles experienced at DFW as reported in this article. As for shortest, there must be a minimum passenger count that must be required for inclusion because the airport in Manhattan is pretty small.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

It has just been announced the new single terminal at KCI will open on Tuesday, February 28, 2023!

If you are scheduled to arrive on a flight into Kansas City on the evening over February 27, 2023, please check with your airlines to make sure your itinerary has not changed and your flight has not been canceled to accommodate the move as it will all happen in one evening!

Otherwise, please check with your airlines any other changes to your itinerary following this launch date to ensure that no changes have been made to your flights in response to the new terminal opening.
