A town abandoned in the desert. It once housed over 10,000 people. It was founded in 1859 and the last resident left, leaving it abandoned in 1942 when the mining was put to an end. To this day it stands frozen in time. Beer bottles are still on the bartop, nightclothes hang from bedposts, and merchandise still sits in the storefront windows. The stories of its residents are told through historians and park rangers. I love this place and I can't wait to visit again.
