Our excursion begins with a leisurely ride on our 40' pontoon boat as we admire the beautiful scenery of Orange Beach. After we arrive at our destination, we will unload the kayaks and set out in search of all the wildlife that make coastal Alabama their home. Of the 3 hours, we will kayak approximately 2 hours, working in a rest stop at one of the beautiful islands in the bay. Each excursion carr

ies no more than 6 passengers allowing us to provide each guest individual attention, making for a more intimate experience.

Spring break is here, and for the last 10 years we were ready to go kayaking. But due to a bad back, I am no longer able to make that happen any longer. So this spring we have found a new way to entertain our vacationing guests. Help me spread the word about our new business, Hammock Time Tiki Tours!! I’d like to invite all of our past customers to join us for a little island hopping fun this year. We have re-themed the boat to have a completely new look. Added are two double hammocks, a tiki bar, along with comfortable seating , and a bathroom to make this a fun and comfortable experience. We are located in the same spot, at the Caribe Marina in Orange Beach. Please like and follow our page and look us up when you’re down here on vacation!

Well, today was bitter sweet. I removed the old sign from the boat, painted the railings and removed the roof. It was hard to remove my old sign🥲. I was soooo excited 11 years ago when I attached that sign to the boat! But onward to the future!!

******UPDATE*****
I am beyond excited to announce the opening of Hammock Time Tiki Tours!!!
Starting this Saturday we will begin the process to re-theme the existing kayak boat into 40’ of floating fun! The concept will be to place two double hammocks on the front of the boat, along with a 6 seat tiki bar in the middle. Comfortable seating under the canopy to get out of the sun, a bathroom, a fun knowledgeable captain, yes that’s me, and some beautiful islands. And we will be doing private cruises!! The boat will be getting a full makeover, along with new colors, new seating and a really cool tiki bar that we built especially for this business. We will have several water and beach games/toys to keep the fun going or just lay in one of our double hammocks and enjoy the breeze. We will continue to be a 6 passenger vessel allowing each group their own personal experience. And I will continue to work hard to provide better than expected customer service to each group.
Although there are still a couple of hurdles to overcome to make this a reality, we are hopeful, with a little luck and prayers, to be fully operational by March 1, 2023.
So I ask that you all PLEASE like and follow our new page, and watch as we convert the kayak boat into Hammock Time Tiki Tours!

*****IMPORTANT UPDATE*****
I can only begin by saying Thank You! 2022 was a challenging year, but we made it through, with all of your support!! But all good things must come to an end. So it’s with that, that we are announcing the permanent closure of Coastal Kayak Excursions. It has been an incredible 10 years!!! We have made lifelong friends and created memories beyond my greatest expectations!! The core reasons for closing are my bad back, and the impossibility of finding property on the water to expand. We are busting at the seams and have to turn down almost as many customers as we say yes to. We tried to sell the business, but nobody wants to work this hard. So, we have come to the end of the kayaking road. For me it’s bitter sweet. I will miss the opportunity to meet, and take many of you kayaking, along with our faithful repeat customers, who many have become great friends. But…….SOMETHING EXCITING IS COMING!!!!!! Tomorrow we announce our new and exciting direction. Stay tuned!!

In the 10 years of doing kayaking tours, today was the first time I got to watch a mom teach her baby how to corral a school of baitfish near the shore to feed. Once they were done, they both swam by me as if to say, “Did you see that?!” I was in awe!! I only wish I had started videoing earlier!!

It was a perfect day on the water! With only a few people on the island, we had the dolphins all to ourselves! Sunny and 76* makes for a perfect fall day for kayaking

Whether you’re celebrating your honeymoon or your 44th anniversary, love is all you need. Oh, and an island! Check out our sunset island tour for your opportunity to dance on an island during sunset.

One of our guests yesterday caught a cool video of one of the juvenile dolphins showing off for us. This went on for almost 15 minutes. At one point everybody put down their cameras and just took in the sights.

Our Thursday afternoon excursion gave us the coolest interaction! We had the opportunity to hang out with one lonely dolphin who was looking for someone to hangout with, and we were the lucky ones!!! In over 7 years of kayak tours, I have never had a dolphin entertain us for so long. He visited everyone of us at least twice! I must have shot over 15 minutes of video before we finally had to leave to get back to the boat. Best trip ever!!!

Sunset Paddle & Play trips are a great way to catch a beautiful sunset!

The dolphins kept us quite entertained today, both on the boat and the kayaks. The weather is starting to cool, making it a perfect time to get out and explore the coastal Alabama backwaters. Come join us!!
