About our Willamette Falls Tour:
"The tide tamers at eNRG Kayaking sweep participants along narrated kayak tours through the cascading corridor of Willamette Falls. Up to 12 voyagers board their buoyant vessels armed with provided life vests, paddles, and knowledge imparted during a brief technique instruction. The 1.5 hour flat-water expedition, which is helmed by an experienced instructor, cruises for 2 miles, round trip, past early American factories and rock carvings depicting historic Native American events and predicting the future popularity of pet rock. Paddle into the river's locks and through 120 feet of water, hopping with 9-foot sturgeon, sea lions, and salmon as your guide narrates the river's history, from its modern industrial role to its significance in Lewis and Clark's legendary wakeboarding expedition."

Hello folks!

We are excited you have expressed interest in eNRG Kayaking's 1 day Swiftwater Rescue refresher. This course will take place at McIver Park on the Clackamas River from 9-5pm on 10/19. The cost is $175/pp and we will shoot you an emailed invoice over the next few days if have already confirmed.

Brock Browning will be leading this course as he will be fresh off the Gauley New Rivers, and a newly minted ACA L4 Swiftwater Rescue instructor.

This is an ACA workshop and will follow the level 2 assessment. It seems like we will have a good amount of experience in the group so there is a chance we could uplevel this course depending on the final group. Everyone will receive a participation card from the ACA upon completion.

Bring a sack lunch so we can make the most of the day. Also, everyone is required to have proper PPE including wet suit/drysuit, booties, PFD, Helmet, and whatever craft you normally use on the river (small raft/kayak/IK/SUP). eNRG Kayaking has plenty of gear for rent if you need anything additional.

Let me know if you have questions or know of anyone else interested. Feel free to forward this email along. We are excited to work with you. Call 503.887.5033 for more info.

Sooo, I am on a posting roll- might as well share the most epic composite project I’ve ever been a part of (having helped build the C2 that won the Olympic gold in 1992 when I was a young buck)…

the willamette falls voyager canoe rebuild is complete and OMG was that a project for the ages… huge props to Bruce Uthus for overseeing 90% of the project and bringing a craftsman lens to the effort, Chris maze, Emmett Statham, Reece butler, Zane ruckman, Katie Rott, and other eNRG staff for getting this thing over the finishline after about 100+ hours of grinding / sanding, 6 sheets of foam, 8-10 gallons of resin, 60+ feet of fiberglass, and 2 gallons of gel coat.

The 30+ foot, 20 person willamette falls voyager canoe will be river worthy for music on the water and school groups again in 2025!!!! Yes!

Removed some nasty wood on the upper Clackamas today. It’s been there for a few years and is only accessible (& is most dangerous) at the lowest flows. The log had been cut once before & it only became camouflaged & set deeper into the rapid.

Huge props to we love clean rivers for stepping up to support along with okcc, lcccc, and mt hood territory. Special thanks to Pete Geordano, Chris maze, Dave Trageser, Todd Gilstrap & dayvid from ORE. Thanks to ENRG kayaking for helping sponsor the gear & helping me gain the training and knowledge to help lead efforts like this.

It was a bit of an epic requiring two
Mechanical advantage systems on each log to move them & a combined force of over 10,000lbs from different directions and with different rope systems. We didn’t have to use a saw so they are now Better fish habitat running parallel to the river (on the side) vs a recreational death trap running perpendicular to the entire flow like both halves were. We destroyed some gear, lost some gear, but all in all were successful making the river WAY safer. House rock / nemesis is still a dangerous rapid, but it went from a class 4 (b/c of consequences) to back to class 3. You can run far right even at low flows to avoid the undercut rock.

Thanks to the forest service - Cate and Karina for authorizing the work right before the fish spawning season.

If you want to learn more about mechanical advantage & river safety give eNRG kayaking a call- we periodically have swiftwater trainings / instructor workshops and guide training!
