Shelena's love of balloons began as a child at the U.S. National Championships in her hometown. Years later, volunteering at a rally reignited her passion, leading her and her husband to travel the country as crew members. After her first flight in 2017, she quickly became a pilot and now flies often, sharing the joy of ballooning with volunteers.
The pilot (Shelena Shamo) made us proud.
While we love to bring joy to our communities where ever we fly, we could not do it without our amazing crew. The Plaid Pixie Team wants to call out all those men (fathers) in our lives that makes each day a little bit easier every single day. We love you all.
Springville starts our year off right with great weather and good memories with Art City Days. Thank You to all those who made this year special.

The Great Reno Balloon Race was a great success, thank to the many people who captured this fabulous weekend with the many photos. I have compiled some of my favorites to outline this year’s greatness.

Dinah "Soar" Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival has been yet another great highlight of our year. With new crew, friends and youth campers learning all about hot air balloons, what a fantastic event. We want to thank the community for making Vernal City feel like home, the sponsors who without you none of this is possible, and the many event staff whom put in so many hours to make this event a place everyone wants to be.
Thank you to our crew that helped us take care of our balloon, and helped others feel welcome around our plaid pixie. Until next year, May God bless you City, and your community.
What a great way to highlight the school year of 2023/2024, “Take Flight“. This elementary school took the initiative to bring their slogan to life as they were able to witness both the inflation and lift off of our Hot Air Balloon this morning for their first day of school. Talk about having your first day of school, be an amazing memory for the rest of your life. Let’s all celebrate the future as we “Take Flight” in all that we do.
A special thanks to the educators that make the children’s life both memorable and full of life as they teach them each and every day. Also, I want to thank our crew that always comes out to support and bring joy to the communities we fly in.

Even in the darkness beauty breaks through.
Saturday night we did a candlestick for a small neighborhood as the wind was too great, however they all enjoyed playing with the fire.
Sunday morning a few of the people we met the night before came out to crew. Thanks to them I have some pictures to share.

For those of you in the Hurricane, Utah area we will be doing a glow at Lyn’s tonight from 6pm - 8pm (weather permitting).
