1/8/24 - I finished my first D***y but I pushed myself past my limit. I couldn’t walk correctly for months. I couldn’t walk at all for a week. I limped in the last 10 miles in agony. But I finished…

8/15/24 - MONTHS later and I am back into marathon training and cross training with barre. Today I just gave up. Something didn’t feel right. I was nauseous, shaking, just not doing well. So I quit! And honestly I am more proud of myself than I have been in a while.

You only get one body and though my mind is tough, sometimes my body isn’t. And that’s okay! I’m growing into being more balanced. Trying my best but stopping when I have to 💪🏻

I am looking forward to my third marathon, but I will NOT be making the same mistake if I get another injury.

When I booked it, the bungalow goes for $3696 · $3700 a night. But that’s not what I paid 🤭

Bye 2024 ✌🏼 Normally I would say something about 2025 will be better but.. will it? I have to say I gave my all this year to living as authentically as I can and to never take a second for granted. The one thing I’ve carried with me for a few years now is that money can be replaced but time cannot. Your health and your family (blood or not) are the most important… everything else is just stuff. So I will look at 2024 as a year of growth, experiences, and truly living. Oh, and I’m getting married next year! 😁 🔔 👰

Oooo you’re not gonna like this 👀 . . . QUIT! Quitting has such a bad reputation (Taylor’s Version, probably). There is a difference between pushing through the hard parts and pushing yourself past your limit. There’s a sweet spot where it differs between quitting due to fatigue and quitting out of necessity. . . . Sometimes, we quit because we mentally can’t take it any more. THIS IS OKAY. If you’ve done everything you can and it still is causing you harm then QUIT! The friendship, the job, the race, the relationship… . . . Sometimes, we quit because our bodies say we have to. This is where I am learning to be a better quitter. If I would have quit during my marathon, I would probably not still be injured today. . . . It All Began with a Mouse

My first Walt Disney World trips were when I was young (5 or 6). I went once with my dad and once with my mom, both within a few years of each other. I do not remember much except somehow surviving a ride on Space Mountain. We stayed off property and did one day at Magic Kingdom only each trip. Fast forward to 2011. I was leaving for the Navy in early 2012. My mom, sister, and I packed up in a car and drove down to Orlando. My sister and I went to Universal to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The next day, all three of us went to Magic Kingdom. I remember thinking it was not as fun for me (gasp!) as Universal was.

Fast forward again to January 2019. My husband is switching jobs and has a couple of weeks off. I corner him into letting us take our 3 year old, Hallie to Disney World for 4 nights, and 3 park days. We select Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot for the parks and All-Star Sports for the hotel. I found myself enjoying the experience 100 times more than anything I had ever done. Staying on property is a game changer. Not having to worry how to get anywhere is amazing and so convenient! The new found love I had for the parks was overwhelming. Seeing my daughter’s eyes light up when she saw Mickey Mouse in the parade was all I needed. I was hooked.

Fast forward some more to May 2019. I HAD to go back. My husband, not so much. I took my daughter and we stayed 7 nights at All-Star Movies. What a treat! The theming, the food, the convenience... WOW! We explored every park and did our first extra, After Hours! This was what I always wanted!

One more fast forward to October 2019. Our third trip to Disney that year (I know...). We went on a cruise with some friends (not Disney because this was my first cruise... decided to go cheap for the first one!) and decided to do 1 day at MK after. I LOVED planning out my friend’s itinerary. We separated a lot of the time due to difference in preferences. This is when it hit me... I could do this for pay and still help others!
