Kings Dominion today shared a video of the coaster's first official testing launch, marking the first time that the world-record setting ride completed a full circuit on the newly constructed track. The completing of the first circuit is considered a major operational milestone as the ride nears completion, and is one of the most visible milestones to be reached since the last piece of track was secured in place in early September.
The video shows Rapterra launching 145 ft. up and over the midway, coming down into a dive loop, navigating an S-turn, a wing slide, and a corkscrew before going over an airtime hill and a 360 degree Raptor Roll (a barrel roll maneuver) before coming to a rest back at the station. The ride is the tallest at 145 ft., and longest at 3,089 ft., launched wing coaster in the world.
