Yesterday Southwest Airlines announced that beginning in 2025, they’ll no longer have open seating. How are we feeling about this change? I’m a loyal Southwest customer and have been for years. I have always liked the open seating but can understand that for families whose kids have aged out of family boarding, it can be difficult to find seats together. I flew with my 10 year old back in October and opted to pay for early check in so he and I could sit together. While this may not fit in to everyone’s budget, it was helpful for us as it was just the two of us.
