On this day, 180 years ago, William Kent and his companions stumbled upon the breathtaking beauty of Cascade Falls. Their discovery of the 25-foot waterfall, which gracefully descends into the St. Croix River, marked the beginning of our cherished Osceola.

Today, we stand in awe just as they did, enjoying the serene sounds and sights of the falls that have become the heart of our community. As we reflect on the past, we also look forward to the future with anticipation and pride.

Osceola has grown from that historic moment, building a vibrant Downtown that honors our roots while embracing progress. Our town is a tapestry of history, nature, and innovation, woven together by the people who love and care for it.

Let’s continue to cherish Cascade Falls, not just as a natural wonder, but as a symbol of our legacy and a beacon for all that lies ahead. Here’s to carrying on the vision of those who came before us and to the exciting journey that awaits!

Playoff Day in Wisconsin. Go Pack Go!

Another great destination is just 3mi from us in Osceola, the Buffalo Skull Tract at Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy. This is a great little hike, and the wildflowers are wonderful in the summer. The real magic is just through the woods at Buttermilk Falls!

Exploring the fall colors on a historic train will brighten anyone’s day!

There is a lot of work between guests to maintain and upkeep a home over 140 years old!

The chief statue by the falls was taken down during a demolition and not returned. Since it has sparked many conversations and reflection. Restoration was donated and many expressed disgust or affirmation for this representation of a native man that has stood on Cascade. As of this evening, the Village of Osceola Board voted to restore the statue to where it stood the last 25 years. May we never forget the story and perseverance of the tribes that have impacted our community; the Dakota and Ojibwe who inhabited and cared for these lands or the Seminole leader who is our namesake.
