Slooooow progress, but progress nevertheless.
4 of our tropical plants are settled in for summer. Dozen more to go. Each has an old broken pot sunk in soil, then plants in their own pots are lowered in.
Need to level and clean up are around them.
More free grey papers are slowly placed in. Eventually by summers end, both sides will have been installed.
Poppy's work ethics?

Sunday project completed.
Set pavers around external sump pump, that empties rain gutter water and 3 house sumps collection running through underground pipe, this sump pump, then to Queen Raine's Bog with pipe burried under the driveway.
Interlude included pleasant visit with John Gerhart.
Plzeňský, Dos Equis, Cape May Double IPA were refreshing on the deck.
Now it will be time for viewing prerecorded Cup Race, and a rewarding Caipirissima por moi and Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic for Queen👑 Raine. Of course prepared with our home grown limes. Yay.
AAAAAAND. Our hanging flower🌸🌸 baskets, greeted our first humming bird 🐦🐦of the season. Too fast for a pic.

Just another day in Paradise.
Finished laying all freebie pavers 87' from Queen Raine's Rest Stop. Remaining 52' to the bridge of Brett and Bonnie will have to wait til I score more freebies.
Poppy's progress..... 5/8 minutes of work. Then hydrate with pivo 🍺🍻🍺and playing on phone📱 for 10-15 minutes. 😂🤣😉
Of course Rolly Trolly helps with pivo, Kozel this time, Cape May Double IP's earlier.

Annual spring migration has begun.
57 hanging baskets that overwintered in house have to go out, get cleaned up, plants added and then hung out for summer.
3 down........ 54 to go eventually.
It takes days, day 1 today.
17 tall plants, some reaching 7-10', their turn will be next week.
And 5 fruit trees came out. 3 various lime trees with fruit to make my Caipirissima, 1 lemon tree I used last year in citronella vodka, and finally a fig tree that already producing figs.
Tons of work for old farts. 💨😂🤣😅

Another day in Paradise.
Workout at YMCA.
Quick shopping at Giant.
Met Pat Dayton at our house.
Why you might ask? Scrounge packer Poppy salvaged a wooden desk that was being thrown out by DB PD, decades ago. A desk that Detective James Dayton sat behind for many years. It's now being passed down to son Patrick Dayton.
We had a great visit, reminiscing old times. A lot of work needed to spruce up the desk. Queen Raine supervised loading and securing same.
You can see portion of 60 some hangong baskets in the Blackards Den.

Last day in outdoor tropicsl paradise for our 25 year old rubber tree, a 25th anniversary present in 1999.
It's a sad look in the yard with now all tropical plants moved indoors, just gaping empty pothoses where they lived all summer. . We're just left with normal perennials and all season shrubbery and trees.
On a silver lining, tropical paradise has moved indoors. For ours and cadre of cats enjoynmet over the dull and gray winter months.
A process that will be reversed in spring of 2025.

Just another day in Paradise.
Hard work day today. (still a Labor Day week, eh?) 95% of 60 hanging baskets were cleaned, watered and moved in yesterday. Today it was turn for trees and tropical plants, 17 are now safely nestled in foyer.
Remaining outside is a 6' rubber tree bush, a 25th wedding aniversary replacement Raine bought, since our original rubber tree wedding bouquet from 49 years and 5 months ago, sadly did not survive 3 house moves .
Also remaining are 3 lime trees with numerous limes, about 1", that should be ready befire holidays. Also a fig tree and an orange citrus trees will come inside tomorrow.

Today is a different time of annual transitioning. NOT cats🤣😂
Getting a head start on 60 hanging baskets, mostly 10", before cold weather hits. Trimming, cleaning, moving inside and hanging in their winter home.
Soon it will be turn for 23 tall plants or nearly trees. Most about 5' tall, but nearly ten about 8'-10' tall. That inludes a fig tree, a lemon tree (🎷🪗very🎸🎺pretty🎻) and 2 lime trees. (Poppy needs fresh picked limes for his caipirissima to chase the winter blues away, eh?)
Last move indoor will be only 5 typical houseplants.

Junior is fixed and recovering. Now we know Bebe is a boy. After couple of days in separate cages, we introduced Bebe to his aunt Junior. Looks good for Bebe to be socialized in a couple of weeks. With his help we'll see if Junior can also be socialized and both then adopted out.

Truly sucky 3rd world existence in Ottsville. Verizon went out, they sent a message in morning that there are outages. TMobile hotspot out. Mostly nothing, data, coming in or out. No phone service. Occasionally a text goes out, then not. OK, Direct TV works. Had eye laser surgery in Southampton so we got some news in. Then shopping BJ's and home to backwards 3rd world status. Thank you Verizon and Tmobile (dripping sarcasm).
Finally, now service is back.

Temporary tarp covering now sloping roof, deck will be dry. Eventually to be replaced with polycarbonate sheets. But first, about 96 cross braces have to be installed to handle snow loads.
