When it rains....... it pours. We all know history repeats itself, so brace yourselves. 3 years ago feral Whiskers and her 3 ginger boys and 2 girls came to our lives, trapped, eventually fixed, with Whiskers, Rusty, Rocky and Tiger becoming our permanent addition. Then more ferals showed up two years ago, Fluffy, Sparky and Nanushka. We were able to trap and fix Fluffy and her offspring Sparky. Not so for Nanushka, she remained uncatchable, and aparently last year had Junior unknown to us, and 4 kittens, we found those kittens, but sadly we were not able to keep them alive. You now know that since last fall and through winter we were feeding outdoors Fluffy, Sparky and Nanushka, and eventually Junior, hanging around Nanushka, an apparent bond between them. Now ten days ago, Friday 4/26/24 Junior revealed her s*x by delivering 6 blind kittens in our heated igloo. And you know we were able to trap Junior and her kittens, so now tbey are indoors in a large birdcage. Yay success you say? Not so fast kimosabe. Early this week we found Nanushka with an entourage of 3 fully formed, kittens, who followed her, capable of self feeding and drinking from bowls. IE weaned. This morning Catman Poppy was able to sneak up on them, sn**ch one, who is now on 2nd birdcage. Doing math you'd say there were two kittens left to trap, eh? Again, not so fast my friend. Later in the morning Nanushka brought back three again to our feeding area, magic? But hold your horses. Later in the day for another feeding there were now four, they are apparently 2-3 weeks old. Sooooo, Sneaky Nanushka, with her 4 offsprings outside, and one already captured already inside, brings our Catemporium total to 21. Yikes, it developed organically. So our focus will be on trapping Nanuska and 4 outdoor kittens, fixing her and socializing ALL kittens so they are adoptable.
Carry on, there's now tons to see here.
