Owatonna welcomed the MVPA Historic Convoys to the Steele County Historical Society, and the Owatonna Veterans Memorial on Sunday. During the month of October they will make their way down the historic Jefferson Highway. If you didn't have a chance to see the convoy come through, here's a recap of their visit!
A special thanks to the History Center for hosting, the Owatonna Police Department for the escort through town, and the Moonlighters Exchange Club of Owatonna MN, Owatonna VFW, and the Owatonna American Legion Post 77 for their help in welcoming them!

National Travel & Tourism Week
Last week we recognized and celebrated National Travel & Tourism Week. Our ambassadors visited several of our hotels & attractions, Mayor Kuntz shared a proclamation honoring the week, we recognized the Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener Committee for their dedication to tourism by hosting a wonderful community-wide celebration, and invited the public to test their knowledge of Owatonna with tourism trivia.
Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate, and to our tourism partners for their dedication and service to tourism & hospitality. All of us together continue to make Owatonna a great place to visit!

The Orphanage Museum’s Fall Celebration welcomed visitors to learn more about the history of the Minnesota State Public School Orphanage Museum through storytelling this afternoon. It was a beautiful day to hear more about state schoolers’ experiences and the history of Owatonna’s West Hills.
