Pacific City is currently safe from the fires that have affected our neighbors. We are filled with smoke. We are asking visitors to give us time for the air to clear, and to not visit for a few days. Many roads are closed. Internet service is down in most vacation rental homes. Some areas are without power. Lincoln City has been completely evacuated including the hospital. So, adding extra population is not good for our already very stretched services. We can't take any more emergencies and it's not a good place to vacation right now.
Thankfully, some of our vacation rental homeowners have offered their space to staff and families who have presumably lost their homes, and other evacuees. We need the space for those in need. Hopefully just for a few days.
Video is yesterday at our office. The smoke is much thicker now, but thankfully the wind has calmed.
Pacific City is buzzing with life today, such a fun atmosphere!
