Today we are throwing it back to the fifties! The Gross Family are well-known in the City of Pacific. From owning an amazing bakery that people cannot stop talking about, to operating the Post Office for a time, the Grosses have long played an important role in town. As we look back and remember an influential family, we want to highlight a photo recently scanned into our collection of the Gross Saloon, featured below. On September 7th, National Beer Lover's Day celebrates the grains, hops and brewing methods across many eras. As we honor the various methods that have brought to life so many enjoyable beverages, we would like to remember an iconic drink setting in Pacific: The Red Cedar Inn. The bar, added onto the existing structure in 1935, was the place to sit and have a beer all the way up until its closure in 2005. While you can no longer get a cold beer at The Inn, the bar itself has found new life in preserving and presenting local history. 🍺
