Effective immediately, the Archuleta County Sheriff's Office (SO) will temporality suspend VIN inspections for trailers due to the construction of the Archuleta County Transit Facility. Construction on the Transit Facility, which began on April 15th, required relocation of the current parking lot. The limitations caused by these necessary changes forced the removal of proper turnaround space causing the pull-in and pull-out process for trailers inaccessible at this time. Inspections are still available by calling the County Clerk, 970-264-8350, to schedule an appointment for trailer and/or passenger vehicles.
