Just 20 more days till we arrive for Christmas. I can't wait to see the dozer work that has been completed and to meet the company that will do the foundation work. I hope the recent heavy rains have not ruined all the dozer work.

We finally received our permit this week!!! We will be able to start breaking ground and working on the foundation when we are there in December. Only 48 more days till we are on site again and get to see the progress with our own eyes instead of through pictures. I cannot wait. :)

More progress on the dozer work. It is starting to look very nice and I am starting to crave that view and warm weather. I can't wait till we get there in December!!! I wish I could win the lottery and move over now. We are so BLESSED!! Thank you God for allowing us to do this.

The driveway is started. Alani Bulldozing has the best customer service and does excellent work. We cannot wait until we get there and see it first hand.

Just checked the Hawaii County map page and we have officially been given an address now for our property. :) I can't wait until we have a house to go with the address.

About a month ago, the neighbor called to say that our property was partially cleared by a dozer company that was on the wrong lot. While this did not excite us because we did not want to clear our property all the way to the road, we took it in stride and will make additional plans to cover up the view from the road. We want to maintain privacy for us and our visitors. The view of the ocean is our focus.
This week we received the call from our dozer company Alani Dozer and he will begin work next week. He has offered to push up an area to block the view from the road to help us keep our property private.
A big thank you to Hursley for helping us out when some other company had created a wrong.
I will post pictures after it has been cleared. 😎

We sat down on the bluff overlooking the ocean and saw a turtle playing in the waves. He (or she) would roll up and down with each wave. He was having fun and so were we watching him.

We arrived home from our latest trip to When Pigs Fly Oasis yesterday. After checking the mail, we received our letter from the state concerning the Special Management Area and we have been approved to continue pursuing the building process. It has been determined that we are exempt from regulations concerning building on the coastline. It is exciting to have the first step complete!!
While we were there on our trip this time we were able to accomplish several goals toward applying for a building permit. First we had the property surveyed and realized there is a slight knoll just in front of where we plan to put the house. We went back to the house designer and made changes to the plan to build on 8ft piers. This will allow us to see over the knoll with ease.
We also begin the process to have the septic engineered, spoke with Off Grid and water catchment shops which provided us with options and costs for our oasis.
Once the updated design with 8ft piers is finished it will need to go to the architect for final approval. Then we can add the engineered septic and our site plans and surveys and we can submit for a building permit. The permit typically takes 3 to 6 months. We are hoping for the best but realize that time setbacks may very well be a part of our planning for When Pigs Fly Oasis. We will let the time be in God's timing and continue to be patient.
We look forward to a time when you can come for a visit.
