If you or someone you know would like to participate in the traveling car show, you must be at the Graham County Auto & Arts Museum in Hill City before 8:00 AM Sunday morning.

The City of Palco is currently planning a water treatment system improvements project that includes construction of a new water treatment plant building and installation of all nitrate removal equipment, plus the construction of a two-cell, non-discharging, double-synthetic lined lagoon system to address a consent order from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE).

The City would like to thank the Dane G. Hansen Foundation (DGH) for grant funds in the amount of $79,000 which were used towards the engineering design of the project. The engineering design was completed by Wilson & Co. Inc. engineers from Salina, Kansas. The total cost of the design was $219,500; the balance of the costs was paid using a KDHE loan. The design plans/specifications have been submitted to KDHE for their approval and the project will be let to bid later in 2024.

Because of this Dane G. Hansen Foundation contribution, the City of Palco received additional points in the competitive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) rating system and was able to secure $417,960 of CDBG funds that will be used towards construction of the planned project.

The City of Palco has received a grant from Community Development Block Grant! This goes toward our nitrate plant for Palco. Pictured left to right is Ken Rahjes, 110th District Representative, Johni Keller, Palco City Mayor, and Corina Cox, CDBG coordinator. What an honor to receive this grant!
