Hello,
Thank you for considering our home for your stay in Palm Springs. We recently converted it from a long-term rental into a vacation rental so that we can spend more time in the desert. We live in Portland, Ore., so we desperately need a regular dose of sunshine! It’s been great fun stocking the home with items that celebrate its history from the vintage pool table and records to the posters
which are from the Palm Springs Villager (now Palm Springs Life) cover archives. What about the home’s history? Laurel is part of the Racquet Club Road Estates homes which were designed by William Krisel and built by Alexander Construction Company in 1959. The homes were marketed as weekend and vacation getaways amid the height of popularity of the then nearby Palm Springs Racquet Club. The Palm Springs Racquet Club was where celebrities came to dine, drink, swim and play tennis. Spencer Tracy spent a winter at bungalow number 19; Marilyn Monroe was discovered there while lounging poolside; and its bar, the Bamboo Room, claims to have invented the Bloody Mary and popularized the frozen daiquiri. We hope a little of this relax hard, play hard spirit wears-off on you during your stay. Please call Turnkey Vacation Rental to book your stay. 888-512-0498.
