Only 45 minutes drive from Anchorage airport (only 5 hours flight from Hawaii), 15 minutes to Hatcher Pass for Gold Panning, Independence Mine State Historical Park, Skeetawk (for skiing) few minutes to Thunderbird Falls, Capitol Speedway, rivers for salmon fishing, hiking, hunting, national parks, dog sledding, Iditarod Race, Iditarod Museum, perfect location for day trips to Denali National Park, Talkeetna, Willow, Valdez, Matanuska & Knik Glacier, Seward, Kenai, and the famous double black Diamond Ski Resort Alyeska, Heli Skiing & a lot more!
Oh, and for you gun lovers out there, open carry and plenty of places to practice.

Also, restaurants and shopping are nearby. Lots of dining options, also try the food trucks located in the Mat-Su area.
Stores around the area includes Walmart, Target, Fred Myers, Carrs, Asian store, only 30 minutes drive to JBER for commissary/PX,
Costco is 45 minutes drive to Anchorage and more!

The Valley Hotel Restaurant in Palmer- open 24 hours for late cravings. I personally love the Prime Rib Specials on Fridays.
Noisy Goose Cafe, Turkey Red(American), Palmer Alehouse for great selections of beers and live music, Pizzaria Delphi, Pizza Athena, AK Best Phillys, Feather & Flour (French/American) and more to choose from.
My Favorite Foodtrucks: Cravingz4dayz- best Birria you'll find (located at Silvertip & Design in downtown Palmer), Kitchen Warrior, Patriot BBQ, Daniellos Cheesesteaks & more.

Wasilla area:
Basil Ginger, Mekong Thai Cuisine, Pho Vatsana,Tokyo, Thai Asian,
Evangelo's Bar/Lounge, Italian
Settler's Bay Lodge, Bar/casual Fine Dining known for its steaks and seafood dishes, along with extensive beer & wine list and specialty cocktails. And of course my personal favorite steak place, Everett's in Wasilla! You can the view the gorgeous Wasilla lake while you dine.
