"Allegro"our Beautiful Catamaran has been Sold.

Unfortunately, due to all the Hurricanes, finding Commercial insurance for a boat that stays in the water became almost impossible. It was with much sadness that we had to sell 'Allegro"

We know that many of our regular customers will miss her greatly. We will continue to do Fishing trips aboard our Boston Whaler power boat. We are planning on creating some new adventures. Dolphin Watching and Sightseeing are two that we hope to bring to Alligator Point. We are also planning on creating an adventure that is focused on Children fishing for catch and release fun fish. The ones that are plentiful that we catch and throw back when we are fishing for grouper.

Ahoy Mates, yes I’m still around!!! Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve done a post. It has been a whirlwind of craziness for all of us. I’ll try to keep this brief and give everyone a quick rundown. February 2020 Allegro was pulled from the water to have her bottom re-done along with services to the engines and all the rigging. Our calendar was full for the new season. Then came COVID!!!
All the rental houses closed down, everyone had to cancel and we were closed until Memorial weekend. Yuck!!! Once things opened back up we were slammed. Seems as though everyone needed to get out of the house and get some fresh air. It was my pleasure to accommodate them.
We actually did more charters than the previous year even though we were closed for three months.

Here we are in 2021, still a crazy world with so much going on. Both Boats received all of their annual maintenance in February and are ready for the new season. So far it’s kicked off like gangbusters. I’ve had to do a lot of rescheduling due to weather, but mostly we’ve been able to accommodate everybody that has booked. Still lots of availability for all! If you book, I will always keep an eye on weather as your date approaches. I keep you informed if it looks as though your day isn’t going to be so good. I even start to hold days open to make sure you get a great day on the water. So be sure to book early in your trip so that you have a fallback day.

Here’s a few pictures of “Allegro” out of the water and a few others taken by customers.

Come on down and have some “Cool Fun in the Sun”

Ahoy Mates, it’s been almost 4 months since I’ve sat down to create a new Facebook post. Sorry about that, but I am a sailor not an writer.
This will probably be long-winded as there’s a lot to get everyone caught up on. First off the marina came back better than ever from the hurricane. Lots of upgrades to the store the Sewalls and the docks but most importantly the Tiki Bar is back in business.

The two new trips that I created, the “Trout Shootout” fishing trip and the “Sailing Sampler” 2 hour trip have been great successes. We’ve done very well fishing for the trout with counts as high as 40 fish on a four hour trip. Of course not all of them are keepers due to the size limitation. Still a blast to catch and can be fished in lots of weather conditions.
The “Sailing Sampler” has worked out perfectly for families with smaller children as well as others who just want to try sailing.

Now that summer is here, we always have the typical thunderstorms that like to pop up. The forecasters have done a pretty good job of keeping me abreast of changing weather conditions. It’s important to be flexible with your booking, to either leave early or late or reschedule as to get the best weather possible for your day on the water. The trip that does require the best weather is the “Dog Island Drop” fishing trip. Unfortunately this one gets canceled the most. But many customers have substituted when the weather didn’t cooperate. I will always keep you informed as your booking date gets close, if I think there’s going to be a chance of a change to your trip time. It’s always best to book early into your vacation so you have a fallback date.

All in all it has started off to be a great season, with some weeks actually having full capacity. The weather has been mostly cooperative with only a few cancellations so far.
Again, I want to thank everybody who has recommended or reviewed Allegro Sailing on Facebook and TripAdvisor. So many kind words!!! I’m not posting any pictures this time because all of my wonderful guest have been doing so themselves.

With Blue Skies and Fair Winds, I look forward to Entertaining lots of new and repeat guest in 2019.

Ahoy Mates, Now for an update on Allegro Sailing & Fishing. We were very lucky that our boats received minimal damage from Hurricane Michael. However the Marina damage prevented us from continuing charters for quite a while. The time was not wasted however. “Allegro” received a complete waxing including the outer hulls. I installed a new wind transducer on the mast since the other one was destroyed.
A new sailing trip was added to our website. Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will be doing two hour adventures. This trip is perfect for families with smaller children.

We were finally able to get our Boston Whaler “ProFishinSea” down from the boat rack. She had a complete cleaning, all the fishing tackle was re-sorted and prepped. All the rods and reels have been serviced. And the engine received a tuneup. She is ready to catch some fish!!!
I am adding another trip to our fishing lineup. The “Turkey Point Trout Shootout” this is a inshore trip that we did several times last year when the weather was too rough to venture offshore. It will be the same price and times as the Reef Runner Trip. Look for it soon!

It was an amazing year last year with us doing almost 100 trips. I especially want to thank everyone again for the wonderful reviews on both Facebook and Trip Adviser. Whether you’re returning, or on your first trip to the forgotten coast, be sure to let Allegro Sailing & Fishing be your go to for..... “Cool Fun in the Sun”.

Ahoy Mates, as promised here is an update on our recovery from Hurricane Michael. The Marina is officially re-opened. There are temporary fuel tanks in place while the damaged one is being repaired. The ship store has coolers with beverages and Ice. The Tiki Bar is coming along nicely, the new decking is bigger and better than before. Most the docks have water, electric and lighting. The boat storage barn and launch pier repairs are almost finished. The Forklift is running great and launching boats. Here are some pictures to see our progress. The marina is in full swing just in time for fishing season!

Ahoy Mates, Sorry for such a long delay in posting but it’s been a busy winter recovering from hurricane Michael. I’m posting some pictures showing the damage on Alligator Point. We had a storm surge of around 9 feet. Another foot and the floating docks would have gone right over the tops of the dolphin poles. Things would have been a lot worse for “Allegro” had that happened.
I’ll let the pictures tell the story and will post again shortly with an update on our great recovery.

Capt. Tom

10/12/2018

Ahoy Mates, just a quick update. I’m happy to say that both “Allegro” and “ProFishinSea” survived the storm beautifully. However the marina sustained extensive damage and it will be quite a while before it’s operational again. The dirt road so many of you traveled to come fishing and sailing with us no longer exist. That’s the first major hurdle to getting everything back to normal. I’ll post pictures and more info as soon as we have electricity restored.

To those who messaged me on Facebook I have tried to respond but I’m having no success in getting the responses sent out. I hope you all receive this posting so you know everything is good. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Ahoy Mates, Captain Tom here.
looks like we dodged a bullet for the end of summer with tropical storm Gordon zipping past us. What a great summer it was, more charters than I could have ever imagined. There were only a few cancellations due to weather. We did have a couple of delayed and early departures and a few reschedules. It’s great that the customers were able to be flexible for the best weather.

I’m posting some pictures of fish Caught aboard “ProFishinSea” our new Boston Whaler fishing boat. It’s been a lot of fun teaching our guest how to deep sea fish. First lesson is don’t put your hand in their mouth to hold them. “These ain’t no Bass”😂.

September 1, is the reopening of grouper season in state waters. This will be our focus on the Dog Island Drop fishing trip. So far no one has been able to get off shore due to the tropical storm. So if you’d like to fish for some Grouper, book now for the next available weather window.

On our last Reef Runner fishing trip the spanish mackerel were feeding and we were able to take 30+ fish. They will be moving out as the winter months approach so books soon as we discontinue this trip when the fish migration ends.

All in all, whether you want to have a beautiful day sailing, or a day of deep sea fishing, AllegroSailing.com at Alligator Point, Florida is your best choice. With all five star reviews on both Trip Advisor and Facebook, You Can’t Go Wrong!

Ahoy Mates, Captain Tom here.
We have had the most awesome springtime and early summer weather up until just recently. Since we're having a brief period of bad weather, I'm going to get caught up on letting everyone know how we're doing.

We have done so many great trips, and enjoyed the company of all the interesting people and families that have sailed with us. Not only is the word getting out to our out-of-town guest but quite a few locals are discovering our great sailing adventures. I especially want to thank everyone who have taken the time to give us five star reviews on Facebook and Trip Advisor.

The big news for the beginning of summer is that Allegro Sailing has purchased a Boston Whaler fishing boat and will now be offering fishing trips as well as sailing adventures. Our website allegrosailing.com has been updated with all the information you need to book one of these trips.

As always, we are quite flexible with our bookings. If the weather on the date and time you chose it's not pleasant, we will reschedule, delay or cancel and give you a full refund. If you're visiting and the weather is beautiful and you want to go sailing or fishing, CALL ME!

I'm looking forward to an excellent summer with lots of fun times , fair winds and No Hurricanes.

Ahoy Mate's, Captain Tom here.
I Posted this as an Ad awhile back and am not sure if it was seen by Allegros' followers. Just in case here it is again

Spring is in the air, with brisk wind and warmer weather. It was a chilly winter, but our guest stayed quite comfy, with the protection of our fully enclosed bridge deck. Not much trampoline riding though! The Dolphins continued to visit us on most of our trips.

During our down time we were busy making improvements to "Allegro".She received a new sunbrella helm station cover as well as window coverings to help keep her cool and protected from the sun. She also received new sheet bags to help keep those lines neatly organized.
Special thanks to my sister Margie Daniels for her expertise and sewing abilities. She has a really amazing talent and it was a pleasure to work with her and learn how to sew.
We sewed a cool set of seat cushions for another project boat I am working on. I will tell more about that in a future post.

We made some additions to our sailing camp on Alligator Point, we pulled a new electrical and water line out to the garage. (No more extension cords)
We now have a 50amp RV hookup. If your interested in RV camping at our sail camp, give me a call and we can discuss the detail. We will also have a kayak and johnboat for you to use.

The bookings for spring and summer are coming in fast, so if you have a trip planned to the forgotten coast, book early so you don't miss out on a great time sailing aboard "Allegro"

Fair Winds and No Hurricanes for all,

Ahoy Mate's, we've made it 30 days without another storm. Less than 20 days till the storm season is over.
Yahoo!!!!

We have had a tremendous amount of sailing adventures in October and the beginning of November.
We have hosted birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons and even a marriage proposal. So many beautiful sunsets and a couple of beautiful moon rises.

The fall season is now here with daylight saving time shortening the days substantially. We are now down to one 1/2 day adventure beginning at 11am till 3pm and the sunsets beginning at 4:30pm. The full day trip begins at 8 and ends at 4.
With the cooler weather the migratory fish have began to move south, so we have suspended fishing until the spring.

A sailing adventure would be a wonderful gift for the holiday season.
If you would like to consider giving a gift but are not sure as to the date your recipient would be able to go, contact me and we can arrange a flexible schedule.

Thanks to everyone who has left such wonderful reviews on our page. It means a lot to me to know you had a great time.
Allegro Sailing is now officially listed on Trip-Advisor under "things to do" at Alligator Point, Fl. If anyone would like to repost a review there, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ahoy Mate's, it's been a very hectic 45 days with two storm threatening our little piece of paradise! All in all we were very fortunate and both storms went around us. Unfortunately we did have a few cancellations due to the weather. I feel most saddened by people scheduling a vacation to our area only to have a storm literally rain on their parade.

"Allegro" did wonderful at the dock weathering out both storms. We have finished putting all of her sails back on, and she's ready to go. Just add Guest!

Looking forward to lots of great fall sailing, and hoping for no more storms.

Ahoy Mates, Capt. Tom here. Well, August was the month of family's with children on last minute summer trips before school started back up. We had many great first time excursions over the last month. I imagine Allegro Sailing is likely to be featured in at least one "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" school assignments (if they still do that).

Fishing has been plentiful for those who chose the fishing tour option. The last trip, our guest landed a monster King Fish, and as he reeled in the fish, he said, "We are going to need a bigger cooler!" Can you say Smoked fish dip? Yum! If you haven't tried the fishing tour yet, we encourage you to do so! It is perfect for those of you who are new to fishing, as we will teach you everything you need to know. Additionally, you don't have to worry about all the clean up that goes with it! We do it all for you, including filleting the fish! All you have to do is the cooking..... and if you are lucky, we may even give you a secret recipe!

As we head into Fall with daylight savings time approaching, we have adjusted our sailing schedules for the shorter, cooler days to come. Beginning November 6th, Sunsets trips will start at 4:30 pm and our half day trip will only be available once per day from 11:00 am till 3:00 pm.

Based on high demand and our customer's feedback, we have added more sunset/moonrise sails. We will now offer 3 to 5-night sails during the week of the full moon. We hope this allows more of you to enjoy this excellent experience. Please refer to our website for more information.

I hope you are all looking forward to the cooler dryer weather as much as I am.

Thanks to all who have sailed with us and we hope to see you again soon!

Capt. Tom Wiegand

PS: We were very fortunate with hurricane Irma and sustained no damage. The weather afterwards has been excellent and we are sailing daily.

I would like to thank all the Couples and Family's that have sailed with us so far. We have done 11 trips in the last 17 days. We have entertained Birthdays, Anniversary, Family Vacations and locals. The weather has been spotty with a couple of delayed departures and only one cancellation. The Dolphin sightings have kept up, including some sneaking up on us in the dark during the sunset return trips. Fishing is still at a 100% catch rate. Our youngest passenger of 6 caught her first fish all by herself. Her and her 2 sisters brought back a lot of memories of the good old days out on the water with my 3 daughters. Come have some "Cool Fun In The Sun" aboard "Allegro" with Capt Tom.😎

Had a great 4th of July Holiday with lots of sailing adventures in perfect weather. It seems that the weather forecasters keep calling for bad weather only to change it a day or two before our charters. We understand that booking in advance, you never know what the weather may be. Allegro Sailing will never sail into inclement weather. We have been able to reschedule a few trips for our visiting guest. Our goal is to give you the best sailing adventure possible.
The fishing has been great with a 100% catch ratio so far. We are still having lots of porpoise sightings too.
Join us and experience some "Cool Fun In The Sun" with Allegro Sailing

06/20/2017

As of 6/20/17, we have experienced dolphin encounters on 95% of our outings. The dolphins seem to like swimming in front of the bow as we return to the harbor. It's a great experience! Thank you, first mate, Carl Wiegand, for the Video.
