Harbor Point Vacation Rentals

Harbor Point Vacation Rentals Vacation Rentals on Alligator Point, Florida. Located at the eastern end of Franklin County, Alligator Point is accessed via US Highway 98 and County Road 370.

Alligator Point’s protected bay, Alligator Harbor Aquatic Preserve, encompasses 14,366 acres and serves as a nursery for many game fish species such as grouper, snapper, cobia, tarpon, and redfish. Miles of pristine beaches, an abundance of shallow bays, marshes and fresh water rivers provide great outdoor opportunities including deep sea and sight fishing, boating, kayaking, bird and wildlife vie

wing. A unique feature to Alligator Point is one of Florida’s naturally preserved state parks, Bald Point State Park. The convergence of Ochlockonee Bay & Apalachee Bay produces diverse habitats and makes it an excellent vantage point for fall and spring migrations of birds and butterflies. Bald Point is also an outstanding observation point for year-round wildlife residents such as black bear, white-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcats and hosts of resident birds. The day-use facilities at the park include picnic pavilions, restrooms and a fishing dock. Walk miles without passing another person, cast a rod, catch shrimp, enjoy sunsets, collect shells or just gather your thoughts. The absence of noise and glaring lights makes for prime relaxation and exquisite stargazing. If you want to know more about our area or have questions about making the most of your visit here, please call us. Each member of our staff is a long-time resident of the area and appreciates the opportunity to share his or her knowledge about fishing, birding or just relaxing.

Here in Franklin County, Florida, we were fortunate to be spared the worst of Hurricane Helene, which caused only minor damage in our area.

Our hearts go out to our neighbors to the south, east and north who have been deeply affected, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts as they recover from this devastating storm. 💛

Keep Nesting Turtles Safe

Sea turtle nesting season is officially in full swing! Headed to the beach this summer? Here’s how you can do your part to help keep them safe:

- Keep Beaches Dark: Turn off lights not necessary for human safety after sunset and remember to cover beach-facing windows that may confuse nesting turtles and hatchlings.

- No Flash: Avoid using flashlights, bright cellphones, and taking flash photos on the beach at night. These lights can disorient turtles and potentially cause them to crawl away from the ocean and put themselves at risk.

- Clear The Way: Before leaving the beach, clear away furniture, boats, toys, and any trash left behind on the sand that can potentially become obstacles for crawling turtles. Make sure knock down sandcastles and fill in holes – turtles can potentially get trapped.

- Stash the Trash: Prevent entanglements and keep our state beautiful by cleaning up after yourself and others when available.

Most importantly, keep your distance and report any sick, injured, entangled, or deceased sea turtles to FWC’s Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922. Follow FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute for sea turtle nesting updates throughout the season. The next nesting count update is coming soon!
