Great news for PCB! Praying for those in the direct path of Helene

I know the anxiety many of you are feeling as we face another storm and the uncertainty we have all felt this week, especially after the devastation we endured with Hurricane Michael six years ago. Please know that we are all in this together.

I have some encouraging news – we are now out of the cone as issued by the National Hurricane Center. We are under a tropical storm warning, and while we can expect lower-level tropical storm conditions, including wind and rain, the most dangerous impacts will not be in our area.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office will have additional deputies on the road to ensure your safety, but we strongly encourage you to stay off the roads as tropical storm conditions arrive. Please continue to monitor weather forecasts and stay updated through our social media channels and the local news for any changes.

While we may be spared the worst of Helene, we deeply understand what our neighbors in its path will be facing in the coming days, months, and years. Our hearts go out to them as they prepare for an extremely dangerous storm. Just as many came to our aid in the aftermath of Michael, we are preparing to do the same for those affected by Helene.

Stay safe, Bay County. We will get through this together.
