this quote has always spoke to me.
having a traumatic childhood, full of chaos & uncertainty, ironically was also what I ended up chasing early in my own adult life.
It was exhausting.
The constant chaos.
Do or die.
But it felt like home.
((Often, it still does))
We choose to experience hell because it’s something we’re used to, it’s painful yet comfortable, rather than venturing into the unknown, evennnnnn if it could end up being heaven on earth & wildly aligned with our true calling.
& this goes for everything in life.
a relationship, a job, a bad habit>>>
We willingly put ourselves through unhealthy routines that we KNOW are destructive because it’s familiar. It’s H O M E.
& while the unhealthy habits you're working on shedding might've helped protect the younger you, you don’t need them anymore.
Thank them,
then let them go.
Be brave enough to choose the unfamiliar
