Hershey's Beach Ice Cream Shop
This is a bit of a hike, but still within walking distance, and if you are in the mood for ice cream it is your best bet. Plenty of raving reviews. Having said that, we think a better bet is to (over)buy plenty of ice cream on that trip to Publix you are bound to make. Get the stuff you’d never have at home. You’ll spend less, enjoy more and it’s a lot closer at hand.

Tiki Hut
You can’t beat “let’s just go downstairs” for a snack or light meal. The Tiki Hut is on the property, next to the pools and on the way to the beach. The food is tasty and close. Hard to beat.

Wendy’s
If you like Wendy’s and want to walk across the street, that’s where they are.

Subway
Right across the street as well and fine if you are in the mood for a sub.

The Bloody Mary & Music Festival has been cancelled.

The Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally has been postponed. Stay tuned to see when you can ride on down to the premier biker event of the Florida coast.

The 20th edition of IRONMAN Florida, which is usually held in Panama City Beach, has been moved to Haines City, Florida on November 4. The IRONMAN Foundation has also launched a Hurricane Relief Effort campaign to raise funds in response to Hurricane Michael.

The Emerald Coast Cruizin’ has been cancelled but will move registrations to the spring 2018 event.

Early and preliminary reports seem to indicate our building weathered the storm without significant visible damage. We hear the condo to our west (Sugar Beach) suffered greatly with many roofs blown away. The link to the video in this post is of homes next door to us on our east. Not good at all.
