A trip to WDW is not a low cost vacation; however, there are ways you can make that fantastic experience less expensive. So is there a way for you to experience Walt Disney World without breaking the bank? Can you have fun without visiting a park every day? You certainly can and some of those things are free! So for today’s edition of Travel Tip Tuesday, let’s look at a few of those fantastic experiences.

Disney Springs is a themed retail, dining and entertainment center inspired by Florida's charming waterfront towns, historic architecture and natural beauty. The sprawling promenade features 4 distinct neighborhoods―The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center—built around bubbling springs. And it’s free to visit and free to park (except valet parking).
While there are many options for shopping and dining, there are also many free activities throughout the area. Visit the LEGO® Store to play with many different bricks and accessories as well as see the amazing LEGO® sculptures. Look for free samples at many of the retailers such as Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. Or simply enjoy many of the local bands and entertainment that is provided daily.

There are over 30 different resorts on the Walt Disney World property. They cover all budgets and are classified as value, moderate or deluxe resorts. The one thing they have in common is the amazing theming used at each resort. The theming alone makes a visit to a resort worth the trip. If you have children or are just a kid at heart, I strongly encourage you to visit the value resorts, especially Art of Animation and the Pop Century resorts.
You could also make a stop at Animal Kingdom Lodge, one of the deluxe resorts. There are a number of common areas that provide spectacular views of 4 lush savannas that over 200 hoofed animals and birds call home.

Disney provides a number of transportation options to get you around the property. You can use the Disney bus system, the monorail system, the boat system or the Skyliner System.
The Skyliner is Disney’s newest transportation system and it allows you to glide across the sky and add an extra dash of pixie dust to your day. This system conveniently connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot to the following Disney Resort hotels: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
For the adults in the group, you may be tempted to use the monorail loop in the Magic Kingdom area to complete a monorail bar crawl.

Located at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas, just a short stroll or boat ride from EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and other resorts, the Boardwalk is another great spot you can visit for free. Like Disney Springs, you will find dining and entertainment options there but you will also find various street performers or simply enjoy the sights and sounds as you stroll along Crescent Lake.

There are many things to celebrate in our lives and Disney wants to help that happen. You can stop by any Guest Services location and ask for your own Celebration Button. You can customize these for things like your first visit, your wedding, your birthday, your anniversary or anything else you would like to celebrate. Not only do these buttons make great keepsakes but they will also garner you a bit more attention from Cast Members and maybe some guests as well.
So that’s just a short list of free things available to you at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. What free activities do you take part in while visiting WDW?
