Now based in Pasadena, California, Krister Lile founded Plank Island Studio in 2007 in Aberdeen, Washington to create environments in which people can Thrive. Trying on clothes is just like trying on a home kitchen, a new office or a holiday cabin in the woods by a lake: it may fit, it may work, but for you to Thrive and be your best, you have to feel your best in it. We believe great design can

create better places and we believe better places create better, stronger, more confident and healthy human beings. Some professionals may use massage, bar tending, counseling or physical therapy, but they all serve to help their clients feel their best. We are no different except our medium is the built and styled environment. Our clients are businesses, community foundations, non-profits, tons-of-profits, normal folks, famous celebrities and their mother's you've never heard of. Entertainment Network, is regularly shown or mentioned in various blogs and periodicals and is getting better all the time. Our smallest projects involve spending an afternoon re-styling a client's home using the furnishings, art and decor they already live with. Our middle-size projects involve residential and commercial remodels, additions and whole-home designs. Our largest project so far involved a commercial interior and exterior design overhaul and addition with a construction budget over $1 million.
