1) Mediterranean Cruise: hands down mine and Brad’s favorite vacation! It would a great trip to take with your spouse or even a girls trip.
2) When in Vegas….helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon! Amazing!
3) Paris…riding the scooters around one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
4) Alaskan Cruise - breathtaking views, whales, bears…it has it all!
5) Disney World with my girls! Always do a girl trip to Disney!

It's still not to late to join me on a group cruise through Greece. Where will the cruise take you? Athens, Santorini, Rhodes, Patmos, Mykonos Greece. We will also make stops in Agios Nikolaos, Crete as well as Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey. In Ephesus you could join me on a private Highlight of Ephesus and Shopping excursion to see the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis and Amphitheater where St Paul preached and other stops/highlights.

Welcome to my first Travel Spotlight. Please join me every month as I focus on a vacation destination, resort, cruise line, and other top vacation destinations.

Septembers spotlight will be Sandals Curaçao . I honestly can't get this beautiful resort off my mind. Peaceful, serene, private, and beautiful views for days! I was so lucky to be a part of a site inspection during our cruise recently, that it had to be my first ever travel spotlight. Curaçao is a beautiful island located in the Caribbean Sea and a part of the Dutch Caribbean Region. Curaçao is the largest of the "ABC" islands in both area and population. Aruba and Bonaire make up the other portion of the "ABC" islands. Today Lauren and I took a private snorkeling tour around Bonaire. Make sure to watch for pictures on Second Wind Travel & Yacht Charters page to see beautiful snorkeling pictures. It was a great day and our guide Jordan was phenomenal! Here’s a few pictures of the island. I hope to be spending some more time in the Caribbean islands soon. How about you???

Days 11, 12, & 13.

Day 11: we played two more games of softball. It was a hot day but I got to watch my girl so I pushed through the heat! I mean, I am in Italy so that made it easier! 🤣

Day 12: Bradi and I decided to forgo the 7 hour bus ride to take the regional train to Bologna, and then the high speed train to Rome! If you ever get a chance to take the train! Do it! It’s relaxing and you’ll see some beautiful scenery.

Day 13: Today is our last full day in Rome. We leave out early tomorrow for a long day of travel. We are staying near the Pantheon so started our morning by walking to a cafe for a late breakfast and a trip to the Pantheon.

Italy is such a lovely country. I’m so thankful to have this time to spend with Bradi. She starts school in 8 days. 2 more years of high school and then she’s off to college.

Tammy’s Tip: Take the trip. Make the memories. Life is short, so make the most of it! Don’t ever regret the time spent with loved ones. It fuels the soul!

Days 8, 9 and 10.

Day 8 took me back to Vatican City where our ABSA group took their tour while Bradi and I did our own adventure. I snapped a couple of pictures that I had missed previously. We then left Rome and headed for a Tuscany Wine and Food tour. Tuscany is beautiful as well!! We drove late into the night for a stay outside of Florence.

Day 9- We started the morning in Florence where we had some free time in the city. After leaving Florence our next stop was Pisa.

Day 10 (today)- game day for Team(s) USA. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty sweet seeing your kid play in another country with USA across her chest. I’m soaking it up as I only have 2 more years with my girl!

I’m loving Italy and everything about it. I may have to change my itinerary at the end and head for Venice. 🤔

Day 6 & 7.

Day 6 consisted of an early morning high speed train from Florence to Rome (FCO). The train took us to the airport where we met up with the team(s). We loaded the buses for a quick 2 hour tour of Rome near the Spanish Steps and then back to the hotel for team dinner.

Day 7 took me and Bradi on an early morning semi-private tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica. (I wish I had done the Catacombs!) I know my pictures won’t do it justice because the details on everything is amazing. The history of Rome throughout time is awe inspiring. Oklahoma became a state in 1907, and I’m looking at statues and tapestries that date back to the 1500’s. Michelangelo did the Sistine Chapel between 1508 and 1512, after he did the Statue of David. The history of this magnificent city is astounding. After our tour, we met the team at the Colosseum where Bradi and I had a rooftop lunch with a great view of the Colosseum.

Florence, Italy. Day 4 & 5.

What. A. City! I have been here before. Just a stop on my Mediterranean cruise in 2018. That one day was phenomenal, but it didn’t do it justice. We explored the city, ate pasta, ate more pasta, took a Gelato making class (hands down the best sorbet and gelato I’ve ever had), and today we had our Private Walking Tour of Florence | City Highlights with David and Duomo. If you are thinking about going to Italy….DO IT! Let me or Lauren help you! Enjoy the pictures but it’s much better in person!

Also, what do you know of Florence, Michelangelo, The Statue of David, and his other works?!? Come to Florence and take the private tour and find out!

London Day 2… as we were on our way to the British Museum, I see a lot of people videoing and taking pictures of a couple. I just knew I was seeing someone famous leaving The Savoy. Apparently I did (in a way). It was the car. They liked the couples car. I mean it was pretty sweet if your into Ferrari’s 🤣 Today so far, we’ve explored the Theatre District, the River Thames, the British Museum and of course we had a small treat. (We’ve walked a lot so we deserve the treat!)

It’s been a fun filled day in London. We landed at Heathrow early this morning and checked into our beautiful hotel The Royal Horseguards located in Westminster. We took a short power nap so we could last the day through. We visited Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace,Hyde Park, Kensington Park, ate at a great little Pan Asian restaurant called Tuk Tuk. We missed our Ghost, Ghouls and Gallows walking tour as our cab driver took us to the wrong park. (My fault entirely! 🤣) Tomorrow we head to our Harry Potter Warner Brothers tour. Can’t wait! Now…to kick my feet up and sleep some more!

When vacationing at the beach….remember this, it can save your life.

Reusing the Bay County sheriff’s photo. While you won’t be able to see the rip like this from the shore, there are things you can spot.

*Edit* this post was created during a dangerous rip current event when people ignored the water being closed to swimmers. Most of the time the beach will not look like this however, rips are just a way of water. Below is supposed to be information you can use while standing on the beach.

SPOTTING A RIP CURRENT
1. The U in the sand (red line on the beach). This U happens from sand being displaced due to the onshore flow of the water. The rip is usually on the downwind side of the U but can be perfectly straight out. That typically happens when the wind is directly onshore.

2. Look for deeper water. Note where the rips are typically deeper and the color of the water is darker. (Red Line pointed out)

3. Look for surf. Where the waves are breaking, the water is likely coming in or fighting the water that is coming out. This is usually where the shallower water is. (Yellow Lines)

4. Stand still and watch the water for 30 seconds. If you can visualize the water moving out and it lines up with a u in the sand, plus there isn’t any surf and the water is deeper than the surrounding water; you are likely looking at a rip. This water is not safe to get in even if you are an Olympic swimmer….

SURVIVAL OF A RIP IF CAUGHT
1. Don’t panic
2. Don’t panic
3. Don’t panic

4. Float as best you can, face the shore, and wave your arms for help.

5. Note the green arrows. You can escape a rip by swimming parallel to the shore in either direction (Green Lines). There are several getting-out points where you can get back to shore if you follow the surf (yellow lines back in).

6. Continue to not panic. If you can not escape the pull of the rip by swimming parallel to the shoreline… Let the rip take you out. When you feel you are no longer being pulled out, swim parallel and follow waves that are moving to the shore to get out safely. This is a lot of floating as rips can pull you out fairly quickly. Highlighting the importance of having a float with you if you plan on wading past waist deep.

SEEING SOMEONE IN A RIP
1. Call 911 and tell them what access you are at.
2. Try to get a nearby surfer/jet ski/boater's attention that someone needs help.
3. From the shore, shout directions of what way the person caught in the rip needs to swim to get out of the rip.

NEVER GET IN THE WATER TO HELP. WAIT FOR EMERGENCY RESPONDERS TO ARRIVE.
