SET YOUR ALARMS - ROCKET LAUNCH TONIGHT!

Tonight's SpaceX rocket launch has the potential to be a spectacular one for viewers along the southeast coast of the U.S. Since the launch is scheduled for 6:32 pm, 43 minutes after sunset, the rocket's exhaust plume may be very bright. Why? While it will be pretty dark at the ground, the rocket will be at an altitude (40-50 miles high) where the sun is still out, so it illuminates the expanding exhaust plume perfectly to create a brilliant light. It may look like a cosmic squid! The weather should be good. Just hope for no big delays
