We went on a fun little East Coast trip in June for 11 days and I found some FANTASTIC allergies friendly places to eat. I was super impressed with the amount of places that had an actual Gluten Free and/or Vegan Menu! While I am a not a vegan, just dairy free, it is so wonderful to have a lot of options! Our first allergy friendly stop was outside of Saratoga Springs, NY. This little brunch spot had an amazing GF/DF menu and they even had cookies and brownies I could eat! One of my FAVORITE stops in our trip that week was Gr**go Jack’s in Manchester, VT. They had the BEST salsa I have ever had… and I do love my Mexican Restaurants. They made my guacamole fresh when I ordered it so there wouldn’t be any cross contamination.

We booked a specialty restaurant one night on our cruise and it was AMAZING at Bonsai Teppanyaki. This was the first time I have ever done habachi that they made MY food in front of ME. They made my food first then finished everyone else’s.

There were several lunch places open on our cruise. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to we at a few of them because they didn’t have any allergy friendly options. I was however able to eat as some!

Breakfast/Brunch on our cruise. I don’t eat much different on vacation than I do at home. Bacon and eggs are a staple in my life. There are several options for me to choose from for breakfast and brunch. I ate in the main dining room for breakfast everyday but our “Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Party”.

Our first day at sea I went to the brunch in the main dining room. I love that I can order my meals the night before! I wasn’t able to eat at the Pig and Anchor Bar because they soak their meat in dairy and apple juice so I got a “taco” from the Blue Iguana. They didn’t have corn tortillas, so I ate my meal as a salad. Dinner in the dining room as AMAZING. My chicken was so juicy and the chef made me a chocolate mousse!

Sail day lunch at the buffet was a little hard, but was able to get a BLT at the Deli for “second lunch.” Dinner in the main dining room was great and they have a dairy free/gluten free chocolate melting cake on the menu every day! I love that they now have a vegan and gluten menu on Carnival, I just wish it was dairy free and not just vegan.

We tried an a-la-carte and the beach side snack shack while visiting Sun Palace. Fuego wasn’t sure if they could accommodate but after our waiter talked with the chef, he said it wasn’t a problem. The grilled chicken was juicy and delicious and I always love a good guacamole 🙂
At the snack shack, they ended up having to clean the grill before they made my food, so it took over 40 mins for me to get a snack.
I tried the vegan Corn tostada served with coconut tingo and jicmao. It wasn’t bad!

I tried so many new dishes this week at Hilton PDC! Had some really good desserts, too. They tried pretty hard on my meals and I appreciated it.

This was the only a-la-carte restaurant open for breakfast at Beach Palace Cancun. It was good, but we had way better allergy service the first two days at the buffet. I wanted to eat at all the restaurants, so we gave it a try. We did not eat there for dinner as it was mainly pizza on the menu…. Which I can’t eat.

While the Smokehouse is an outdoor restaurant, the tables are inside at the buffet for dinner. My steak was great, however they did put dairy on my plate the first time, so they had to bring me new sides and a new plate. The salad was interesting…. I’ve never had raisins and walnuts in a salad before.

I ate breakfast at the buffet 3 mornings- the first two mornings were fantastic and I had a breakfast of champions! I am pretty sure a manager type waiter was helping me… ordering went smoothly. The last morning we were there didn’t go as well. Our waiter had no idea what I was asking- and they even gave him a slip with my allergies AND I have a card with all my allergies in English and Spanish. I also ate dinner there one night and loved it. My dinner took about 30 mins.

All in all, I struggled more at this resort than I have at any other resort so far. They put dairy on my plate three times. (once from room service and 2 times at the smokehouse) I am diligent about paying attention and I’m glad I did. What I was able to eat was great however.

I LOVE guacamole and pico! This resort has their menus online so I knew that the guac was GF/DF before we went. (I have been to a resort that they put cream in their guac) I could live on it and eat it several times a day while on vacation. Pictured is the Guacamole and chips off the room service menu and the Guacamole, pico and chips from the buffet. The chefs at the buffet made all of my food in the back and it took about 35-40 mins for me to get lunch that day… but it was SAFE and I will always wait for safe foods. The waiter was so nice, he even carried my food out to our chairs at the beach and went and got me my drink (I ended up tipping twice because of it)

On our second night at Beach Palace Cancun, we ate at the Italian restaurant. I was a little leary as nothing on the menu was marked GF or Vegan (for DF) but was extremely surprised! Our waiter was fantastic and they made me a pasta dish not on the menu and made my steak allergy friendly. My friend who does not have allergy issues said her lasagna was some of the best she has had.

We flew into Cancun on a non-stop so we were at our resort before lunch even opened! There was one a-la-carte and the buffet open for lunch everyday.

Dinner at Momo- their Pan-Asian restaurant. They were able to make several dishes- Pan Thai with chicken and shrimp and shrimp fried rice. It was really good!
Not dessert available for me… but I was pretty full anyway.

This is, by far, the best allergy friendly dessert I’ve ever had on a cruise (or really any where). They made me an entire allergy friendly blueberry pie! It was on the Carnival Triumph 2018 (which is now the Carnival Sunrise).
