We have very BIG news! News so big it warranted a trip to our favorite happy hour spot to celebrate!

The Sassy Crab officially has new OWNERS❣️

Buying this condo was a dream come true. Turning it into a very successful vacation rental in a mater of 2 months was an amazing adventure.

Y’all, we gained so many new skills. Learned so many things. Formed incredible friendships. Created lasting connections. I learned I have talents that stretch beyond the walls of a school building.

We invested a lot of time, energy, and money into this business and boy, did it pay off in every way! Our expectations were totally blown out of the water!

All that being said, when the time is right to make big business decisions it’s wise to take the leap and do the thing. We know this is the time to pass the torch.

God sent the perfect person our way. He is a good human who wants to continue providing vacationers with a clean, crisp, and cozy place to call their own while visiting Pensacola Beach.

I will continue managing the condo through the end of July. A new management company will take over on August 1st, but I’m certain it will continue to be all the things you love about The Sassy Crab. I’ll share more info on that later.

Y’all have made this endeavor more successful and rewarding than we ever could have imagined. Thank you, doesn’t seem adequate.

The news we've all been waiting for is finally here! 👏

Pensacola Lighthouse is thrilled to announce the public access waiver onto NAS Pensacola has been reestablished and the Lighthouse & Museum will officially reopen to all visitors starting May 17, 2023.

Before the 17th, as part of a phased opening, previously scheduled public visitation will remain for Thursday-Sunday, May 4-7 & May 11-14, from 9 AM-3 PM.

General public visitors will be required to enter NASP through the west on Blue Angel Parkway. All U.S. Citizens or U.S. nationals 18 and older must provide a Real ID or passport. For detailed requirements for base access visit NAS Pensacola’s website.

Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum will be open Monday-Sunday from 9 AM-4 PM. The museum is closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, & New Year's Day.

Sassy Crabbers,

My heart is so very heavy this week. We are begging each and every one of our guests to follow the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards page prior to your trip.

Every single time you prepare to head to the beach, CHECK the flags.

If there is a red flag 🚩 or double red flag 🚩 🚩do.not.go in the water. Not even to your shins. Just don’t do it. Swim in the pool. Swim in the bay. Do not step foot in the gulf.

I’ve lost count of the number of water rescues and deaths this week because of people going in the water during red flag conditions.

This is so so important! Several of the deaths have been innocent visitors going in to rescue a child in peril. They risk their own safety to save the life of another and they don’t survive.

Our beaches are the most beautiful I’ve witnessed. The emerald waters of the gulf are stunning. But, they are not something to take lightly.

Even on yellow flag days it’s crucial to be aware of rip currents. Teach your children (no matter how old) what to do if they are caught in one. Look at the shore line, learn how to spot rip currents and avoid them! If you’re unsure, ask a lifeguard. They are more than happy to point them out to you.

The National Naval Aviation Museum is pleased to open the flight line behind the museum to view Blue Angels practice flight demonstrations. Gates open at 9:30 AM and the Blues are scheduled to take to the skies at 10:30 AM.

Remember, the museum and these practices are open to DoD ID cardholders and their guests who can access NAS Pensacola.

That’s a wrap, folks! The Sassy Crab has completed it’s first season.

We are so grateful for all the support as we kicked off this slightly terrifying dream. 🥴😬

Our first season was one for the record books! We were booked solid from the time we opened our calendar in the middle of February until October 21st. We hosted 48 families (not counting multi-family reservations) in 8 months. Whew! What a wonderful whirlwind it’s been! 🌪

We couldn’t have done it without all of you! We are so grateful for all the families who chose to support our little business. To our friends and family who share our posts and tell everyone they know about The Sassy Crab, thank you! 🥰

So many guests said The Sassy Crab felt like home. Our goal was for guests to feel like this special place was theirs. 👊

Just think, in February this map was totally empty and being hung on a newly “ship-lapped” wall. Look at all the people and places represented. ❤️

We finally got to go visit one of our favorites!

They’ve been closed for renovations. We were so scared our favorite menu items would be banished into the abyss. But! They are still on the menu AND they’ve added some amazing new items you can’t find anywhere else on the beach!

We still love the vibe. The music. The yard games. The staff. The bar. The dos pilotos on draft from Props Brewery in Ft. Walton. There’s a lot to love at Red Fish Blue Fish!

Grandma is here visiting, so we had to be sure she got her favorite seafood nachos. They’re the size of a basketball. Taller than my delicious glass of McGuire’s Irish Red Ale! 🍺

Tuesday Tip:
When you see a purple flag at the beach it means there is some form of wild life present in the water that warrants extra caution.
Lately, the purple flags have been flying due to lots of jellyfish!
If you’re not sure why the purple flag is flying; ask a lifeguard before swimming.

We always recommend checking the water conditions prior to heading out to the beach. The Pensacola Beach Lifeguards page is a reliable resource to check each day.

This is too amazing not to share! Have you ever seen a crab molt?? Neither have we! I know, I know, ”Sassy Crab,” you’d think we would have seen it all….our mom sheltered us, what can we say?!?! 🙈🙉🙊
