My life before Teen Challenge was plagued by addiction. I was in and out of jail, I was an absent father, and I was a thief. I was the image of brokenness. Although I struggled terribly and messed up often, my dad never gave up on me. He knew there was a calling on my life, and even though there were multiple times he had to put boundaries on our relationship, he always prayed for me to be rescued.

God answers prayers! Since enrolling in Teen Challenge, I have surrendered my life to Christ. My relationship with my children and family has been restored. I’m beyond grateful for my father, who would do anything for me, including taking care of my boys and supporting me through my journey to recovery. I look forward to what the future holds because I know that with God, it will be good.

My name is David and I am fifty two years old. I spent my early childhood overseas living a relatively good life. When I came back to the United States I was in a devastating accident. After the accident my life went to a very dark and terrible place, which included drugs and alcohol. During this time I lost both of my parents, my brother, my sanity, and most importantly the relationship I thought I had with the Lord. After coming to Teen Challenge I have truly experienced life transformation, that has not only showed me what a personal relationship with Jesus is, but also to love Him and surrender my will to him. I am a new creation in Christ and the joy I see in my heart, today, I can not explain!

📢 In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 20th, one of our Pensacola SuperThrift locations caught fire. The extensive damage affected the entire building and all sellable inventory was completely lost. Thankfully, since the fire occurred before opening there were no injuries to any staff or customers.

Our thrift stores are a major part of the sustainability initiative we have at Teen Challenge Southeast. Not only do they provide on-the-job training for our students and interns, but the revenue we make is then sown back into our programs to help men, women, and teens find healing and freedom.

At this time, we have set up a temporary donation station outside of the store to accept gently used household items. If you feel led to give a financial gift to put hope within reach of those who need it most, you can do so by visiting give.teenchallenge.cc/pen-fire.

My name is Jeremiah. I was born in Northern Indiana. My father passed away when I was young. I was raised in an abusive home, causing my resentment towards God to begin early in my life. While still young I began to use drugs and crime to bury the pain I was experiencing in my heart. I made a lot of poor choices. I didn’t care about anything. Something needed to change. That is when I came to Teen Challenge. On June 13th , 2023, at Brownsville Church I was truly born again, and filled with the Holy Spirit! Sin is serious, but Christ is enough. Seek the Lord and the chains will start falling off. I am forever changed!
