Our Story

Well-known restaurant owner and chef Andy Ruggeri will open Ruggeri’s Italian Market on Wednesday, May 27, at 161 W. Wisconsin Av. #1-J, Pewaukee, in the space that previously housed Ruggeri’s Lake Country Bakery. While the bakery had many loyal customers, as Covid-19 forced the cancellation of large celebrations including weddings, graduations, birthday parties and other events, Lake Country Bakery was forced to close its doors. “It was difficult for everyone – families had to cancel long-planned events, and our employees had no new orders to fill. As a business owner, this was a tough decision. But I love serving our community great food, and I wanted to find a way to do something smaller that can hopefully grow,” said owner Andy Ruggeri.

Drawing on his decades of experience as a chef, the new Ruggeri’s Italian Market will feature family favorites such as spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, salad, Italian bread and tiramisu. The recipes are from Ruggeri’s Ristorante which operated in Delafield from 2001-2008. The Italian Market will continue to offer ham and rolls on Sundays, as well as some of the popular cookies from the bakery.

“This is a time people are really looking for easy, high quality take-out food that the whole family will enjoy,’” said Ruggeri. “I hope that many of our customers and friends from over the years will enjoy our cooking as we all get through this time together.”
