1️⃣ The RiverWalk is a result of federally mandated sewage and water upgrades. Thanks to forward thinking leadership at Columbus Water Works, the RiverWalk was created to house their new infrastructure and became the world’s most beautiful utility road.

2️⃣ The RiverWalk served as the catalyst for all the outdoor activities you see around the Chattahoochee River today: the creation of the whitewater rafting and ziplining courses, the development of the Dragonfly Trails master trail plan, and the RushSouth Whitewater Park splashpad & playground. It also played a major role in attracting residential & commercial development like Columbus State University's RiverPark campus, Eagle Phenix Mill, City Mills, Mercer University, & Global Payments Integrated (TSYS).

3️⃣ Columbus is home to the biggest rapids east of the Mississippi & offers year-round kayaking which helped Columbus gain the name “The Wintering Grounds” for the multitude of international athletes that travel to Columbus to train in the winter.

4️⃣ USA TODAY named the whitewater course one of the “12 greatest man made adventures on the planet.”

5️⃣ Dragonfly Trail Network - Columbus, GA is one of the longest connected trail systems in Georgia, and its name pays homage to restoration of the natural flow the river and the return of the dragonflies.

This Saturday, all day Whitewater Kayaking music fest featuring, Neal Lucas, Barbarosa Jones, The Sally Brown Band and Odd Alice. 2 to 11pm. We will also have a bounce house for the kids and Rollin Smoke BBQ will be here after 4pm. Gonna be an awesome day, beautiful weather, ICF Kayak Freestyle competition food and great music.
