COLONIAL CRAFTS is available for lease and charter over all railroads in the United States and Canada. The CRAFTS can sleep up to nine guests and seat 32 in the lounge and private rooms. Our Porter/Steward and staff are ready to serve our guests every need. Popular destinations include San Diego, a one-day round trip that can include the zoo, waterfront and Tijuana as activiti
es. San Francisco and return requires two days, but, most of our guests stretch their visit to a three or more day long weekend to better enjoy the delights of California's fun city. And the train ride is one of the prettiest we travel. Some of our other popular destinations are Seattle, Denver, Chicago and New Orleans. Private car vacations are often combined with special events. Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, family reunions are just a few of the many special events which can be celebrated on the train. We also cater to business travelers who need private, luxurious, but, affordable transportation for executives and staffs who want both a chance to relax and meet in a congenial atmosphere. COLONIAL CRAFTS entered service at Chicago on June 4, 1949 in the consist of Pennsylvania Railroad Train No. 70, bound for New York. The 'CRAFTS' was one of an 8 car series of 3 bedroom, drawing room, buffet lounge cars which in turn was part of a 95 car order by the Pennsylvania Railroad placed in 1946. The other cars of the Colonial series were the CABINS, FLAGS, ARMS, HOUSES, LANTERNS, SCOUTS, and DOORWAYS. COLONIAL CRAFTS is the sole intact survivor. Statistics
